“I can see why some people would love the beer, what i ordered was not my personal favourite, but I can appreciate the craftsmanship.The food - Top notch, I had the tusket club and was hesitant to add fries at $5 price, but honestly, I do not regret it at all. The club was great, generous amount of chicken and all. The fries remind me of something out of Heston Blumenthals playbook with 3 times fried fries. Perfect. Hats off to the chef (tasted the chicken hand pie as well) also very flavourful.”

“This place is a must try! It is by far one of the best restaurants in Halifax. The location itself is a bit rundown but it’s cleaned up well and the atmosphere altogether is amazing. Super casual and low-lit, perfect for a fun and relaxing experience. Overall very enjoyable. Especially the food. Everything I ate was top tier, you can really tell the chefs are very skilled. No appetizer/entree was overshadowed, each dish itself was its own delicious experience. Absolutely phenomenal, I couldn’t have been more pleased or impressed. Even the service was superb, all food and drinks came out quickly but with enough time between everything to actually enjoy your meal. 100% worth your time and money.Dietary restrictions: Many gluten-free options. I find a lot of restaurants don’t have many good celiac friendly options, most of the time the food is mediocre. Yet, here I truly felt the experience and almost half the menu is gluten-free.”

A lot of the pastries looked delicious and they also serve breakfast; which is such a staple in cafes or bakeries back home. Their Ube Dalgona coffee and Ube Grilled Cheese is to die for; the reason why I came back to write a review was because I was thinking about it today.Their 2D style cafe is so unique! Such a little gem to stop by in Halifax.Will definitely pay a visit again if I am in the East Coast. :) Please consider opening more branches in the West Coast!”

“With a lot of enthusiasm, I ordered online and came to pick up today. The process of ordering online and picking up was smooth and timely. The dishes were packed neatly in branded plastic boxes, through which the food looked amazing. You can definitely notice the authenticity of the flavors, However, I had only two issues with the:De Patacon was incredible, but very hard to hold in my hands. Everything inside fell apart, and they had to eat the amazing ingredients separately.The beef empanada, although crispy, it is still deep-fried in the corn dill flavor, overpowers the taste of watching Side.I will definitely come back for another taste of the amazing Patacon, hopefully you’ll figure out how to eat it correctly”

They all rip out of your drive way and down the highway making so much noise waking up the neighborhood and driving irrationally. I assume the Tims owner is a car guy. But this needs to stop and complaints have been sent to corporate.”

“I went in today (08/22/23) around 12:30pm and there was no other customers in the store when I arrived. After about 2-3 minutes, there was a huge line that formed behind me and only one girl working by herself (I wish I had gotten her name). She was working on making my smoothy bowl while quickly and efficiently working on three other smoothies that were ordered after mine. Once she made mine, something happened (I think she may have spilled it) and sincerely apologized and told me another one would be coming right up. I thought she was very good at communicating and worked very efficiently for how under pressure anyone would be with the line she had today! I actually watched three other people walk in and walk out because they saw how huge the line was. She did excellent, was so sweet and the smoothie bowl was the best one I’ve ever had.”

It comes with various toppings and sauces to choose and it is definitely fulfilling. Especially for vegetarians, this is an option u can try, although the veggie patty in the burger is not that great to taste. And there is an option to choose between white bread or multi grain bread, there's no such burger store in my knowledge provides a multi grain burger. “We tried this chain establishment for the first time, the service was excellent, everything inside was clean and pleasant, you can watch sporting events, everything was delicious from the food served, however, the ribs and chicken were delivered to our table literally in 10 minutes, respectively, all the dishes were warmed up or lay in the closet to warm up, but after 5-7 minutes they were already cold and this is the main disadvantage”

“I would rate it a 4.5, but since I can only go full stars then I'll round up to 5.The service was impeccable. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly.The butter with the bread is some of the most flavorful we have had. Try the bread and butter!We had the scallops and shrimp starters. The scallops were delicious and cooked perfectly. The shrimp were also cooked perfectly, but the chorizo with them stole the show from the shrimp.Next came the pei boneless ribeyes. We both asked for medium and both steaks were a tad more done than we are used to for meduim. However, the steaks themselves had an amazing char on the outside and a wonderful beefy flavor inside. So we didn't mind the very slight overcook.The mashed potatoes were velvety. Delicious food, although it was too spicy, despite the fact that we asked for as little spices as possible, but it is clear that this is still Indian cuisine, and it is primarily about spices. So if you don't like spicy, this might not be for you, but overall, it was very tasty. Desserts, as in the Indian tradition, were sweet and tasty. Clean, tidy. No bright lights and loud music. I believe that this place is definitely suitable for a romantic date and for friendly gatherings. But it should be taken into account that the restaurant is in the center of the city and there will be a problem with car parking. We parked a little further away and had to walk a little, but it didn't spoil our mood and overall impression. We ordered three different main dishes and three different desserts - everything turned out to be equally delicious. For example, the naan was clearly prepared in the restaurant and was very tasty. I recommendDietary restrictions: It was important to us that there was no gluten in the food. “Went for lunch today and had the Pho and the "Banh Mi" (meat bread). The good: The broth of the Pho is easily the best in HRM, great flavour and mouth feel and you can actually see some liquid fat floating there. The noodle were well cooked and the portion of beef was good. The baguette of the banh mi was excellent as was the meat. The not so good: The choice of meat for the Pho was very basic. There are many of us out there that would like very rare beef, beef ball, tendon and even tripe. I've never seen this option offered in Halifax and would be very impressed if I did. The Pho also needs more accompaniments, I got a small segment of lime, an ample supply of mung bean sprout and one piece of cilantro. I want to see Thai Basil and bird eye chili, and more cilantro and lime. The "Banh Mi" has one option for filling and while it is very good, I would like to see a variety of options. Cold cuts, pates, pork belly slices, satay beef should be a standard variety of options. I'd also like to see it offered as a banh mi sandwich with kewpie, pickled daikon/carrot, cucumber, cilantro and chili's. The Verdict: I will be back. The Pho and meat bread, while basic are very well done. I would be back even more frequently if some of my suggestions about were added. There is a real need for solid Pho and Banh Mi on the peninsula and Red Satay is the closest yet and it wouldn't take much to elevate it to a weekly must go.”

Our first time to Le Rouge we couldn’t find anything to complain about. Thea Langille said hands down our favorite restaurant in Halifax. Great wine selection and cocktail list. We kept it simple with a white. Started with 6 raw PEI oysters and decided on the spicy (good bite) with horseradish and lemon over the garlic / lemon sauce. These were the fullest & freshest oysters we have ever had. Ordered slightly more than simple garden salad with our AAA Prime rib medium rare beef dip with mayonnaise sandwich. The dip was not salty and complimented the whole sandwich exquisitely. Light and delicious and bursting with freshness flavours. We splurged and shared a Vanilla Tuile Sea Salt caramel with coconut pudding garnished with a tasty biscuit and candy caramel drizzle. Not what I was expecting! Tip if you get it. spoon clear to the bottom, light and balanced. Best part Amy McDougall served it herself. Stylish and elegant decor, easy to talk and have a conversation even with the back ground music. An applause for the interior designer. We both agree these guys know beer, they don't mess around. When they make a beer they make it right, and seem to always be coming up with something different.When you have tried as many beers as we have it can be a challenge to find something refreshing and new, something that's not just good but is exciting. Something that makes you go wow I've not had something like this before, and you do just that.My only feedback would be to dabble in sours a bit more, I never seem to find much if any in the class from you folks. I ordered "Soup combo 1" which includes congee, tokwat baboy, buchi and a drink. The soup (congee) is a beef broth base with rice and chives. It is hot (temperature), incredibly flavourful and so comforting. The tokwat baboy is a dish with crispy pork and tofu in a soy/sesame sauce with onions and chives. When I say crispy I mean TO PERFECTION. It had a beautiful crust on it with a juicy, flavourful interior. The buchi is a rice ball of sorts with a bean paste inside and a sesame seed crust. It leaned towards a sweet and was a lovely thing to enjoy my coffee! My coffee was also excellent. They brought me a tall cup brimming with a rich blend.The food came fast, fresh, and steaming.The atmosphere and service have a very down-to-earth, local family restaurant feel.Overall this hole-in-the-wall place in Fairview, Halifax is to die for.”

When staying on base it's convenient to just cross the road and get some pizza, this is probably why they are able to do well in this location.I found that what you get for the price was great. I think it was like $7 for a quarter of a pizza round (that's the slice size) and a can of soda.They usually have one pizza flavour available on the warmer whenever I've passed through here. “It was our first time visiting Mexi’s at this location and we had a great experience. Adam T delivered awesome service and the food was fantastic. Prices may seem a bit high on the menu until you see how much food you get. LOTS of protein, big chunks of chicken on the nachos where some places you have to look for it. I loved how you got to choose between corn or flour tortillas for the fajitas and the taste of the chicken was super fresh. The green sauce on the nachos had a bit of heat to it and it was very good. The only suggestion I have to enhance the dining experience would be to turn the bright lights down at the bar. They were shining brightly into my eyes the whole time we were there and that wasn’t comfortable. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our night out at Mexi’s Halifax and will return soon.”

I tried calling other establishments in the area, and I was either met with silence or a rude person answering the phone. This place? The customer service was sweet right off the bat. My hotel is only a short walking distance, so my spouse and I ventured over for a late supper/date night.When we entered the establishment, our server greeted us warmly and brought us over to our table immediately. I managed to get my coat off and be seated before water was brought out along with menus. As I've said previously, the service was impeccable and sweet. We chose our appetizers, main course, and drinks. We did not wait long before food was brought out. We ordered ebi fry and karaage for our apps. My main course was the tantanmen ramen, and my spouse chose the tonkotsu. We each ordered a beer to go with our dishes.I absolutely loved and devoured my dish. The appetizers were perfect, and my food was delicious. Our sweet server checked in with us routinely to see how we were doing, and I appreciated that a lot. I must admit, we probably looked a bit silly trying to eat with chopsticks (since it was mostly our first time), but no one batted an eye. It was a struggle for me, but I was determined to learn quickly, and I ate my whole meal just fine. The broth was spicy (but not too spicy for me), the pork was delicious, and I loved the veggies. The tastes blended quite well together. The varying textures and tastes made it comfortable and delightful for my sensitive palate. Your booking includes set-up and tear down by the staff, HUGE win. The staff were all so lovely and helpful. And obviously the space is GORGEOUS; very little decorations are even needed in the romantic moody room. We did our ceremony on the roof and it was SO special. Food incredible. We did a standing cocktail dinner and we had more than enough and continue to received compliments over the menu. This is SUCH an awesome spot!”

After searching online, I found this was almost double the price of any breakfast in Halifax. Wonderful food, but keep in mind you are paying for inflated food costs and for specialty ingredients. “I had read about this new restaurant in my city in The Coast but rarely go out to eat anymore being quite a capable cook myself and I had purchased a BRAVA machine several years back that is really my top notch chef in a box as it does everything and produces hot rated meals. But I was downtown and just happened upon it as I was checking out Barrington Street which has been undergoing a sea-change in recent years and when I was much younger it was the shopping street instead of the near-by Spring Garden Road and in-between, malls appeared but now have declined and are being repurposed. It was a dream come true to go on a school trip and end up at Scotia Square with what seemed to me to be “Disney World” with hundreds of shops. Even when I came to study at Dalhousie University in 1971, that was the destination but everything has its’ time and now that wonderland, is office space with a food court. I went in and just had a drink prepared by Aldo who was exceedingly interesting and although has other work, was perfectly suited to be working in a restaurant / bar. I took little time to note the deco but when I returned just yesterday, because there was no seating during the brunch period at the bar, I was forced to sit in the restaurant area and took note of the amazing collection of things all around me with an incredible chandelier that conjured up Broadway shows from past attendance and Carol Channing. I forgot I was no longer drinking alcohol and ordered a mimosa and because I love/loved Benjamin Bridge products, loved it. The chef and co-owner was incredibly kind to explain things along with Taneidro whom I had known from her last job where she was just as personable and good at that good as at this one. I ordered the lobster omelette and although I am not crazy about lobster, it was likely the best lobster preparation that I have had in years and easily, could have ordered ten more. Even the coffee was superb. I think Kyushu and Sunpreet have a very good thing going with Mera and I hope it is a big success in a time of big challenges for restaurants with the rapidly increasing prices of everything they use in their business and the quandary of whether to pass those costs on to their customers. I think they will soon have a very dedicated following but everything about the place is high class but not in the least pretentious and people return because of excellent good so that check mark is certain but I, often return because of the staff and they are incredible.”

Down to the head chef, Chef Chris, who is super social and never denies guests the opportunity to compliment his amazing cuisine pairings.The restaurant is location in the heart of Downtown Halifax, which means parking can be a bit challenging on busy days, but there are tons of paid parking options and quite a bit of roadside parking spaces available. The area is nice for exploring, especially during the summertime and a quick walk to the Waterfront for those looking for something to do after the meal. The pricing is mid range with many affordable options. It will typically run each guest somewhere between $60-70 on average for 2 drinks, an entree, and dessert. This place also has some of the BEST oysters you will encounter in Nova Scotia! On the down side, it is not very kid friendly as the set up is more geared toward adults, but I guess for some that could be a plus lol.If you happen to visit, be sure to try the oysters, their world famous Mac & cheese with the lobster or salmon add-on and the Lot Six Burger; the BRUNCH IS ALSOOOOOO 10/10 (I literally would recommend any and everything on that menu)!!!”
