“Stopped by on a Saturday night trip from Ontario and ended up at Edna on a friend's recommendation, no regrets at all. The scallops were some of the best I've had, perfectly seared, and the whole menu felt like it actually understood Nova Scotia seafood instead of just cashing in on it. Our server knew the wine list cold and didn't rush us even though the place was packed. Small dining room so it gets loud, but honestly that just added to the fun, lively vibe of the night.“

“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!“

My first time eating fresh sushi in a restaurant (only previous experience was eating California rolls from a supermarket), and it was a thoroughly pleasurable meal. “Drove up from Ontario for a work trip and figured we'd try The Ostrich Club since a coworker in Halifax swore by it, and honestly the hype was justified. We went around 7pm on a Thursday and got a window table looking out toward the harbor, which made the whole meal feel like an event. The braised short rib was incredible, and our server actually remembered my partner's dairy allergy without us having to repeat it twice. Already telling everyone back home to check it out if they're ever out this way.“

“Stopped in last Saturday afternoon while visiting from Ontario and the sushi omakase totally exceeded expectations for a smaller spot. The staff walked us through each piece and explained the fish origins, which made the whole meal feel way more personal than your typical dinner out. It was busy but they still managed to seat us within fifteen minutes, and the open kitchen counter gave a nice view of the chefs working. Honestly one of the best meals we had on our whole Halifax trip, would go back in a heartbeat if we're ever in town again.“

“My friend's and I recently had lunch at La Piazza. The food was absolutely delicious, the service exemplary and the atmosphere is very cozy. The cheesecake is delicious but a tad over priced, as were all the deserts, in my opinion. All in all, a very nice experience and we will definitely be going back for our monthly Ladies Lunch.“

“This is a little gem on Quinpool Rd. It is unpretentious and spotlessly clean with an open kitchen. The portion sizes are large, the prices are modest and the service is polite and competent. We had vegetable ramen. It was full of noodles, vegetable and tofu all beautifully displayed in a large bowel. Enough to satisfy the biggest appetite. In fact, next time my wife and I may well share one order. My only complaint is that the broth was a little too sweet for my taste, otherwise a flawless experience.“

Unfortunately, during the music break, I became ill very suddenly (non alcohol related), and got sick as I tried to reach the washroom. I was so embarassed and upset, but a lovely customer and the owner were incredible. Emma and Karen made sure I was well taken care of, cleaning me up, calming me down, rubbing my back, getting me water and wet/dry cloths. I can't thank you both enough! “We had such an amazing experience at Montana’s, and a huge part of that was because of our server, James! He was absolutely fantastic with our kids and made our whole family feel so welcome and comfortable.

“Easily one of my favorite pizzerias in Halifax, with a long established history as well. The specialty Euro pizzas are excellent, but I still often order the thicker crust traditional offerings. The crust is excellent and not greasy. The owner is fantastic and definitely cares about his customers and his pizzeria's reputation.“
