“My favourite cafe in Halifax!!

BEST MATCHA IN THE CITY!

The strawberry matcha oat slush has changed my life in ways I cannot put into words for this review. Pastries, baked goods and food is always unique and very well done. Dumplings are a special treat if they have not sold out.

I cannot recommend this cafe enough, I send everyone here whenever anyone asks about a cafe recommendation. I tell people about the matcha slush like I am promoting religion. I am debating starting knocking door to door to spread the word of the Suda Table matcha oat slush.

“We had the pleasure of eating at Bird’s Nest today, Chicken Club Sandwiches (and we have our usual cup of coffee everyday there too) The food is outstanding, based on fresh seasonal ingredients clearly put together by a chef that has a true passion for food! The service was fantastic as always, and their staff is so friendly, and they know our usual orders by now. “Went in today after wanting to try Cafe Byron for a while. It certainly did not disappoint. I had an iced mocha with a honey whip on top. The flavor combination of the chocolate and honey paired with the roast of their espresso beans is honestly perfection.

I will 1000% be back and this might just be my new go to coffee place in the city.“

“Stumbled upon Cempoal de la Calavera Negra last Saturday morning and honestly it's become my new favourite weekend spot in Halifax. The cortado I ordered was perfectly balanced, not too bitter, and came in this really nice ceramic cup that made the whole thing feel a bit special. The vibe inside is cozy without being cramped, great for sitting with your laptop or just watching the neighbourhood wake up through the front windows. Definitely coming back next weekend - already thinking about trying whatever pastry they had sitting on the counter that I regrettably skipped.“

I loved everything that I have tried there so far. Turkish coffee was bittery and the best coffee I ever had. Will keep going there for my breakfast and morning coffee runs!“

“Gateway Cafe is inside the Pier 21 Cruise Terminal and is a great place to get an iced coffee and an authentic Canadian butter tart. Coffee drinks ate good and the butter tarts didn’t disappoint!

It’s quiet and they have plenty of seating. Service is fast and friendly. It’s a frat place to relax after a day long tour of the area.“

We had the opportunity to meet Lara, the owner, and it was immediately clear why this Cafe is so tastefully decorated, why the atmosphere is so enjoyable and the menu so very delectable. “My friend's and I recently had lunch at La Piazza. The food was absolutely delicious, the service exemplary and the atmosphere is very cozy. The cheesecake is delicious but a tad over priced, as were all the deserts, in my opinion. All in all, a very nice experience and we will definitely be going back for our monthly Ladies Lunch.“

“We adore Cafe Lunette, always a favourite date night spot for us. The Oysters were wonderful, the caramelized onion burger was delicious (although we don't like blue cheese the kitchen put Gouda on it for us instead) and it was absolute perfection! The fries are unreal!!! We could have had an entire plate of the fries haha of course with that dyjonaise dip too though (drool). My wife had a purple gin drink which she highly recommends, and for myself I enjoyed a non alcoholic Caesar which was spicy and bang on what a Cesar should be! We finished with the crème brûlée and an absolutely delightful blueberry gateau! Needless to say we highly recommend <3“

“Chilly day on the water front ...thanks to Becky and Alexa for the great latte to warm me up .The service was fast despite problems with the debit machine . I still miss the DG on Spring Garden Road ( hope they come back after the dig ends)but it is worth the walk . Love this cafe.“
