What a little gem 💎 Discreetly tucked deep into this shop front, the cool air, atmospheric lit interior and warm welcoming service was so lovely. We didn’t have a reservation but the super cool matre’d hustled us 3 great seats on the bar while we explored for 15 minutes.

Tori was our fab server who was knowledgeable about the menu and a ‘complete hospo pro’. We felt welcome and looked after.

The food is AMAZING, we had the Tuna tartare and burrata to start then the Halibut, duck breast and the tagliatelle mains. All so tasty, filling and well priced.

It was bustling on a Thursday night so definitely book to dine or chance it and hope to get lucky like we did 😊“

Unfortunately, during the music break, I became ill very suddenly (non alcohol related), and got sick as I tried to reach the washroom. I was so embarassed and upset, but a lovely customer and the owner were incredible. “My friend's and I recently had lunch at La Piazza. The food was absolutely delicious, the service exemplary and the atmosphere is very cozy. The cheesecake is delicious but a tad over priced, as were all the deserts, in my opinion. All in all, a very nice experience and we will definitely be going back for our monthly Ladies Lunch.“

“11/10. Absolutely phenomenal experience. They are SO patient and SO experienced. Nothing is out of the question as they can make anything possible. Your booking includes set-up and tear down by the staff, HUGE win. The staff were all so lovely and helpful. And obviously the space is GORGEOUS; very little decorations are even needed in the romantic moody room. We did our ceremony on the roof and it was SO special. Food incredible. We did a standing cocktail dinner and we had more than enough and continue to received compliments over the menu. This is SUCH an awesome spot!“

“I went to a place to look at pool sticks near the Italian market and the shop did not exist. A big let down but the wind blew us across the street right to a place i felt like home The staff members are great
... the owner makes you feel like part of the family. I took a picture of a picture and made it how is felt sitting there. It was empty with no one around and then it started change... people start to appear. I spoke to an older couple their Anniversary is June 4th ours is June 5th he was a cop and his wife was an attorney... he said I put the in she get them out ... he liked my ancient... “Since Covid I have very rarely been downtown and so today when I had the opportunity I went to my fave place and ordered the Pho GA and The lemon grass chicken Bahn-Mi. It was even better than I remembered! Lots of chicken, the yummy housemaid citrusy mayo and the bun which is absolutely amazing. The res chillies for me is what makes this so darn tasty - so thanks for that kind associate behind the counter who acccommodated my request!“

“The Bread Lounge has the best sandwiches in Halifax, at both the North End and Burnside locations. The cheese croissant is phenomenal and one of the best I’ve ever had ANYWHERE!! I also just had a catered event at the Burnside location yesterday and everything was flawless. The burgers were awesome and the fries were fresh cut and equally tasty with just the right amount of salt mixed in! The staff were wonderful and even recommended an alternate meal for us, which actually turned out to save us a little money. The person at the drive-through was courteous, smiled and was just lovely. She clearly enjoys her work and it shows. I know it’s just a burger and fries, but it was served with a friendly smile great service and we just loved it. Their burgers are amazing. You owe it to yourself to visit the shop.“

“Stopped in last Saturday afternoon after wandering the waterfront, and Heartwood immediately won me over with the warmest, most welcoming vibe I'd encountered all trip. I ordered the mushroom toast and it was genuinely one of the best things I ate during my whole time in Halifax, simple but perfectly done. The staff were so friendly and patient while I figured out what I wanted, clearly regulars love this spot too because there was a real community feel to the room.
