“I'm not one for the city but any time we go we make a point to stop at Sweet Hereafter! In fact, I would almost make the trip for it alone! It really is the best cheesecake anywhere and I haven't had a bad slice yet. Check out their Instagram for their daily flavour list. Can't go wrong with classic Triple Chocolate but we had Oodles of Noodles this weekend too which was divine“

“This cafe is a staple of the city - if the library cafe (rip Pavia) is crowded or you need more serious food for breakfast or lunch, this is the place to go. Car parking is a nightmare so walk or bike down here - hopefully they'll get the permanent bike lane connection completed and then travel here will be a dream. Outdoor patio is usually the latest, so late summer days (sep-oct) this is one of the places to go. Note - hours are always wonky so have a plan B. They're also wrong by design - kitchen shuts down supppper early and THAT should be the closing time for the day. It's not. So expect an hour before closing to be told no more food is available.Food is sandwiches and wraps, really great (veggie options!) Baked goods, awesome smoothies (purple is a favourite).Vegetarian options: Some solid veggie and vegan options, but it's a breakfast location that caters to traditional fareParking: Much better for biking or walking to here since it's downtown. Fixed bike lanes nearby but they randomly stop right before and right after this block.Kid-friendliness: Youngest kids are ok outside, indoor there's lots to see but it's very compact and it's a coffee-culture crowd so is probably really boringWheelchair accessibility: Outdoor wheelchair ease of access, but you'll maybe need someone who can order - the main door is very narrow and I don't think it stays open well.“

“Overall - a wonderful bakery. Highlights include the white sourdough (Fremont), croissants, and beignets. The homemade hazelnut spread is also to die for. Service is generally warm and the dog friendliness is certainly a bonus. There are however a few mediocre items that could use some improvement — some of the loaves are mealy tasting (esp the whole wheat sourdough) and some of the pastries are lacklustre (I find this especially with the tarts, like the blueberry tart).“

“First time visit to Mrs. P's bakery! Decided to stop by for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The bakery was quite busy as it was Christmas-eve-eve and people were stocking up on pies, cookies, bread and baked goods for the holidays! I ordered a Peppermint mocha latte and a waffle for breakfast, which was delicious. The fruit was super fresh and waffle was so light and fluffy. My partner ordered the avocado toast with an added egg which was also very flavourful and fresh. We brought home a strawberry pie, red pepper jelly and sugar cookies for Christmas treats. We will definitely be back!Parking: There are about a dozen or so free parking spots located directly in front of the business.Wheelchair accessibility: All on the main level“

Heart Stopper Bagel

“Super cute little spot with kind and friendly staff but I'm not here to review the establishment. No. My life was changed when I ate the vegan power wrap.First off, I'm not a vegan. Secondly, I love eggs, I love sausages, I love breakfast food in general. This wrap has no eggs, no sausage but let me tell you, it was incredible. I don't even understand what's in this fella but oh god it is delicious. There's some sort of maple sauce in there and honestly? It might be crack. I just ate it this morning and I want it again. I want to drink a full cup of this sauce through a straw. I want this injected straight into my veins.Eat this at your own risk. You will love it. You will love it the second time. It will take over your life and it will be all you think about every waking moment of your life.“

Piece of Cake Fine Bakery & Cafe Bakery • $$

“Ordered a chocolate cheesecake from them. Firstly when we got the cake they told us to put it in freezer because its fresh and melted, they said by putting it in the freezer it would settle. The cake melted on the way home and oozed on the side. Secondly, We sent them a pic of what we wanted and the cake did not look like the pic at all, there was no bottom layer which a cheesecake should have. The cake was dry and overall not satisfied with the quality at all. I am attaching the pic of we ordered and what we got.“
