“Oysters are quite good, but the lemons are too limited for one dozen of oysters, and the shape of lemon is a little hard to squeeze. Scallops are amazing!Highly recommend this dish! The mix of crispy sesames, cilantro and soft sweet scallops is one of the best match I’ve ever tasted in my life!Tuna and fries is a good dish to share. The fries are not so oily and the tuna is fresh.Duck breasts are so juicy! I’ve never had such good tasting duck in Canada before.Pasta fiori is a little too sour for me.We ordered three cocktails and both of them are wonderful! Especially the one with sage!“
“Our home pub and a great place to stop by at any point during the week! The beers are award winning and the staff is even better! They have some limited, but great snacks like the chicken Samoas and do allow you to bring food in from outside!Their back courtyard on a nice day is usually full which makes for a great atmosphere!Vegetarian options: Limited food but there are vegetarian snacks or bring in whatever meal you like!Parking: There's some limited parking on the street infront but all of the side streets around it offer free parking as well!Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheel chair accessible.“
“We had an awesome lip smacking dinner today. Authentic desi Chinese main course and great tandoori for appetizers. The masala fries was a sweet surprise which is a first time for us in halifax restaurant menu. Hope you keep serving great food like this thanks“
“Had to sample the Harvest Pumpkin Ale from Nine Locks and so dropped into their brew pub on Spring Garden just under My Fathers Moustache. They serve it with a lovely little rim of cane sugar and cinnamon and what a treat it was! To top it off we decided to have the two shrimp tacos as a little filler. I can’t rave about them enough! The chef at My Father’s Moustache makes the food for this brew pub and those tacos were just delicious. I don’t think I’ve had better shrimp in a long time. All around a 10 out of 10. Wait staff were all very nice and we picked up a few beer to take home. I’m anxious to try out the Blackberry Blonde.“
“I recently tried the Carleton, needless to say I will be back. Service was exceptional, drinks were really good, well crafted. I was slightly disappointed in the charcuterie board but I should have inquired before ordering. Thanks for the great evening.“
“There is great IPA at this bar.I always miss it when I'm not at Halifax. Highly recommend the IPA. Service is good too! Really enjoy the atmosphere of Stillwell. Every weekend I like to visit the bar with my friends or families spending a lot beautiful time there.“
“Charlie's is wild. Whenever I have friends in from out of town, we go straight here. Two pool tables in okay shape, and one of those juke boxes you play with your phone. Karaoke on Monday is really fun, and ruled with an iron fist by weirdos (the good kind). I'm a regular there, so it's a warm place for me, but if you don't work on being part of the community there, it can be a bit of an uphill battle. Very LGBT+ friendly, maybe the closest thing to a queer bar in Halifax unfortunately. Bigots keep out.“
“I've been living in Halifax for over 10 years and was quite surprised to stumble upon this place last evening. It did not disappoint!Firstly it is located in a nice, quaint spot downtown with lots of available street parking nearby. I was first impressed by the decor of the interior. It was modern, bright and very inviting. The service was also top notch.. The server was friendly and observant. He didnt allow our glasses to run empty before refilling them. He noticed when we were using alot of the sauces and quickly offered more. It didnt matter how much we used, he was keen to ask if we wanted more as if they had an unlimited supply. We appreciated that! He was friendly, interactive and very professional. The food was tasty!! We really enjoyed the Pho and the broth was so comforting. I could definitely drink it by the cups lol. We also bought some spring rolls. I believe they are a bit over priced at $7 for 2 rolls, but they were pretty tasty nonetheless. The experience was wonderful. I would definitely go back!“
“Food was fantastic with very large portions! Drinks were beyond fantastic and my new found bro Ahmed is the best bartender I have ever had! He gave me his signature version of the Old Fashioned and it was exquisite!!! Ahmed gets a 100 percent rating!!“
“Let’s be honest. Plenty of Indian restos in Halifax are sub-par. I am very impressed by the food here and the menu selection. Great classics and some interesting dishes too. The combination of spices was absolutely on point and nothing was too oily. Lamb curry super tender and excellently flavoured. Don’t miss happy hour from 4-6!“
“Very affordable pricing all around. Very nice pool tables. decent homemade style food. Attentive and friendly staff. Lottery games, shuffle board, open mic, live entertainment, pool leagues, darts, NHL, NFL, CFL, MLB games always playing... Truly a great place to go chill and feel at home.“
“We celebrated my birthday with an AMAZING meal, a beautiful view if the halifax harbour, thoughtful and efficient service and gracious hosts at the Cable Wharf restaurant. I had the sharable hot seafood platter. It surpassed all my expectations! Atlantic Lobster was cooked to perfection, digby scallops were tender and packed with flavour, gigantic succulent tiger shrimp, blackened haddock was fantastic, atlantic salmon was sweet and delicious too. My first experience with seared Ahi Tuna and it did not disappoint!! I highly recommend this dish to anyone who wants a seafood extravaganza that represents atlantic Canadian flavours and hospitality that is truly representative of the maritime provinces!!“
“So impressed by this restaurant! The interior design created a wonderful ambiance, the space was much bigger than expected. The servers were very on point and kind. The food was spectacular with a stacked menu that makes me want to come back for more.Vegetarian options: Ask for the vegetarian menu!“
“Great staff. Good food and the band they had playing was the best band I have ever watched. The singer was amazing. I think the name was four way stop. I stopped in for a quick meal and beer, but after hearing the music, I stayed the entire night.“
“I was meeting my cousin for the first time in many years and he selected this British Pub. Food was excellent, with one of the best chowders I have had for a long time. All the typical pub fare you would expect including a range of pies, curry and a very good special - Lamb Shank. Good beer menu and a decent bar/games room downstairs.“
“The Wooden Monkey was recommended by my friends living here, they certainly cater to a number of dietary restrictions which are very helpful and they have great food. I can't describe each dish, but there were no cons, everything was well seasoned, the crust on scallops and salmon were to perfection, mussels were delicious not the best we had but very good, and starches had good flavours. I can't say anything was too special or unique but for a farm to table experience that catered to some restrictions, it was tasty.“
“I have been coming to the Press Gang for 20 years and while the owners have changed, the stunning atmosphere, delicious food and fun service have not. So great to see. The play list however an insufferable list of AM hits from the 70/80's. Doesn't make me want to hang around the bar and have another cocktail.“
