“Anybody who has given one star to this restaurant is an absolute bot. The food here was some of the best food I’ve ever had. I don’t usually give out reviews because I’m employed, but I just had to write this review because this restaurant is actually fantastic.

Highly recommend, bring your friends, family, your boss, your partner, your ex, your teacher, a random stranger - i don’t care or go by urself.

“We had an outstanding dining experience at The Press Gang that was enhanced by our server, Lindsey. We started with oysters and yellow-fin tuna. Both dishes were scrumptious. Our mains were the Tuscan Atlantic Salmon and Seafood Risotto. Both were excellent and Lindsay suggested the perfect wine pairing. This was by far one of the best dining experiences we have had!“

The owners have really taken the time to do something different here and it shows. Our waitress, Heather was busy, but still took the time to make us feel welcome and wanted. What a delightful meal.“

“Came upon Stillwell almost by accident. There were a lot of places to get a beer in the area but the Beergarden offered a unique and serene outdoor setting. The staff were great, the beers varied and delicious and the food options perfect. So glad we wandered by!“

“My son and I attended the John Prine Tribute Show Saturday night; the talent was spectacular and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, during the music break, I became ill very suddenly (non alcohol related), and got sick as I tried to reach the washroom. I was so embarassed and upset, but a lovely customer and the owner were incredible. Emma and Karen made sure I was well taken care of, cleaning me up, calming me down, rubbing my back, getting me water and wet/dry cloths. I can't thank you both enough! “Visit pretty regularly both alone and with family and the pizza, beer, and staff are always fantastic. The biggest downside is how noisy it can get when it's even a bit busy, you can barely hear the person next to you. Some sound-proofing in the space would go a really, really long way! Was honestly surprised it didn't happen during the renovation from 2 Crows to Yeah Yeah's.“

“We had an awesome lip smacking dinner today. Authentic desi Chinese main course and great tandoori for appetizers. The masala fries was a sweet surprise which is a first time for us in halifax restaurant menu. Hope you keep serving great food like this thanks“

“We had such an amazing experience at Montana’s, and a huge part of that was because of our server, James! He was absolutely fantastic with our kids and made our whole family feel so welcome and comfortable.

James was friendly, patient, attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were all taken care of. He was especially wonderful with the kids, which made our experience even more enjoyable as parents.

It’s not often you come across someone who makes such a positive impression, but James truly did. His kindness, great sense of humour, and amazing service made our visit one we’ll remember.“

“Popped into levelbar after an afternoon of socializing.
The food - for pub food, was definitely on the higher quality side. Everything has good flavour and was well balanced in terms of salt. I had the chicken wings and an order of fries. Lots of food even though they are both side plates.
Service was fast and friendly.
The atmosphere was chill, it’s nice when places do a good job of acoustics and set the place up so sound is absorbed and you can hear the people you are hanging out with.
Would definitely return.“

“I was meeting my cousin for the first time in many years and he selected this British Pub. Food was excellent, with one of the best chowders I have had for a long time. All the typical pub fare you would expect including a range of pies, curry and a very good special - Lamb Shank. Good beer menu and a decent bar/games room downstairs.“

“This is our local taproom. I just love this place. Great bunch of people...staff and patrons. A great place to relax and enjoy some good conversation. The beer is the best in Halifax if you're into craft beer. Always a great selection and the beers rotate frequently so you never get tired of drinking the same thing....unless of course you want to. They have some specialty snacks to enjoy with your favorites beer too. They do not serve food, but you're welcome to bring in whatever your heart desires, in to eat. Jesse's Pizza and CHKN CHOP are just steps away.A couple of my favorite beers are 12 Years to Zion, DOA and Flat Black Jesus. I'm sure you'll have your own favorites.“

“Went to this restaurant a few weeks ago. The Pho spring rolls and rice wrap was incredible! First time ever trying pho. I can’t stop thinking about it and can’t wait to go back. “Very well impressed with the restaurant, the building, menu and ambience indoors. Could have been a tourist trap but wasn't. Waiter very nice. One missing Malpeque in the order but easily brought to the table when flagged. Bacon wrapped scallops good but needed a side something to refresh the salty dish. Seafood chowder, crab cake very good.“

“The 5 Fishermen restaurant was amazing! The food, the atmosphere and the staff were all great. The manager even went to every table to check on the customers…to me, that is over and above service. We had the prime rib that was melt in your mouth fantastic. I know it will definitely be on our list of places to eat when we return to Halifax.“
