“Partner and I went to Johnny’s snack bar for dinner. We had fish and chips each which were fantastic. Best we have had in Canada since coming from Scotland. We enjoyed the atmosphere very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend we finished it off with lovely apple pie and ice cream.“

“This was my first time at The Cannery, Bedford Row in downtown Halifax. I was greeted by friendly staff and my first thought was of the cleanliness of the restaurant and the staff were sharply dressed. The ambiance was chic and it was decorated in classy high end furnishings. I choose a both, yet still had a great view of Halifax harbour. The Braised Short Rib Pappardelle was cooked flawlessly and the sauce was tasty delicious. I look forward to the steak on my next visit. Mixologist Abi is amazing and pours the best tasting cocktails the city has to offer. His drinks please both the eye and the taste buds as he has a few tricks up his sleeve. Thanks again to everyone at The Cannery for a tasty meal and tasty drinks. See you all again soon. Cheers“

“absolutely amazing service by our server. we had a reservation at 7:30 yesterday on Canada day. I was completely unaware they closed at 8pm as it wasn’t posted anywhere besides on their front door. my party and i were super apologetic when we came in but he assured us we were fine and offered amazing kindness and service. love coming here :)“

“My son and I attended the John Prine Tribute Show Saturday night; the talent was spectacular and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, during the music break, I became ill very suddenly (non alcohol related), and got sick as I tried to reach the washroom. I was so embarassed and upset, but a lovely customer and the owner were incredible. Emma and Karen made sure I was well taken care of, cleaning me up, calming me down, rubbing my back, getting me water and wet/dry cloths. I can't thank you both enough! Karen, I will definitely be back for another show; you were so kind. Emma - if you see this - your students are very lucky to have you in their corner. You both rock!! Tracy“

“We celebrated a birthday at Montana’s and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect for our celebration. Waitress received 25% tip and tried to return some of the tip saying it was to much her modesty is the reason for every star given

“Came tor Trivia night and ordered quesidila. Little pricey for food but I guess fairly standard these days, but the drinks were reasonably priced. Iverall decent experience. Typical pub fair and vibe for the most part. Service was decent, food came out quite fast“

“You guys really need to step it up when it comes to consistency. I'm so tired of paying good money for food and being disappointed. You used to be my go to for everything and I keep trying and hoping that things have improved but one week I'll get a large donair and it's a large and tastes good, next week ill order a large donair and get a small burnt one. same thing with donair subs. I just paid $15 for a large donair, it was tiny and the sauce on it taste like milk not at all like donair sauce. Done with spending good money and getting something different every time I won't try again that's for sure.“

“The staff at LHTavern were great even upon entering. Our Elders were having a luncheon there and many attended.. the staff serving and working the luncheon were awesome..
Pros at their work services...friendly and quite polite..I thoroughly enjoyed everything..thank you Jan and Mike for your everyday gifts of your work ethics as our Host and Hostess.
My food..the panned cooked haddock with veggies...real mashed potatoes and coleslaw.tartar sauce etc.. was a large serving which I dang near licked the plate clean.

“I could not be more thankful for the staff at the lower deck. While shooting an event, my bag was stolen and not only did the event coordinator help me sort things out on the camera, but Mike the bouncer actually FOUND my backpack AND all of my gear (minus bank cards) in a nearby lot!! I could not be more grateful for the AMAZING staff who not only kept me calm, but no joke, FOUND ALL OF MY GEAR AND SAVED THE DAY!!! Mike, Steph, and Laura seriously deserve an award for how above and beyond they went last night. 10/10, thank you does not say enough“

“Group of work crew got together for a meal and then a Moose game on February 29th and not only enjoyed the food, the layout of the restaurant, but the waiter (Brandon) was amazing and made the whole experience of our first visit the best experience and we'll definitely return.“

“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!“
