“I don't go often to East Side Mario's, but am generally sure it will be a decent meal. This evening's meal was REALLY excellent (try the chicken Milano!) - salad and bread both incredibly fresh. Recommended just for that ..But our server Pao deserves a HUGE shout-out. I don't know when I've had better, more attentive, genuinely cheerful service. Seriously, she elevated the experience from "pretty good" to "I'm so glad we did this!"“

“First visit: Michelin 3-Stars plus Head Chef - Amy McDougall out did herself! Nikki our server was great host worth a 5-Star rating herself. Our first time to Le Rouge we couldn’t find anything to complain about. Thea Langille said hands down our favorite restaurant in Halifax. Great wine selection and cocktail list. We kept it simple with a white. Started with 6 raw PEI oysters and decided on the spicy (good bite) with horseradish and lemon over the garlic / lemon sauce. These were the fullest & freshest oysters we have ever had. Ordered slightly more than simple garden salad with our AAA Prime rib medium rare beef dip with mayonnaise sandwich. The dip was not salty and complimented the whole sandwich exquisitely. Light and delicious and bursting with freshness flavours. We splurged and shared a Vanilla Tuile Sea Salt caramel with coconut pudding garnished with a tasty biscuit and candy caramel drizzle. Not what I was expecting! Tip if you get it. spoon clear to the bottom, light and balanced. Best part Amy McDougall served it herself. Stylish and elegant decor, easy to talk and have a conversation even with the back ground music. An applause for the interior designer. The colors, lines and high end appeal coupled the excellence of quality brought to the table. We will be back Nikki and thank you Amy, Sincerely Peter & Thea ❤️ Second visit: Another great night with the beautiful and always delightful Thea Langille. This time I will make note that we went to see “Oppenheimer” after the meal. We had to Google to remember it was “Indiana Jones” the last time. Lol. We started with the White and Rose Sangria, each choosing one. Then the Asian Nachos (my favorite), Seafood Chowder that was amazingly meaty & creamy. I had the garden with the Lobster Club on a croissant. No dessert this time. Nikki our server was once again delightful.“

“Johnny's snack bar, probably as old as the hills and yet I've never been. Luckily just the other day I happened to be in the neighborhood so I stopped in for lunch. Great patina! Only booths and stools at the counter, I love it. I ordered the hot hamburger which I noticed as a special though a dollar or more than what I saw on online but it included clam chowder so that was a pleasant surprise.I'll admit I enjoyed the clam chowder even if the broth was a little gelatinous and the clams tasted a little canny. I looked forward to the roll but it didn't seem fresh and the butter was hard. The hot hamburger was interesting. The fries were fresh and hot. The sandwich was ample and the coleslaw was smooth and creamy. The gravy was fine if a little bland which was enhanced with salt and pepper on everything. The scoop of vegetables on the side was typical as are those that have been sitting, in hot water for too long. There was a particular flavor in that hamburger and I can't quite put my finger on it. I wanted to ask my server as I was genuinely curious. You get your pop in a can and it was perfectly chilled and served with a little glass for sipping. The service is excellent. Sitting in a booth, looking out the big window in front was nice. The vibe was excellent, welcoming, comforting, homey. I enjoyed hanging out after I finished my meal and I was left to pay at the counter on my way out. Good times.“

“You guys really need to step it up when it comes to consistency. I'm so tired of paying good money for food and being disappointed. You used to be my go to for everything and I keep trying and hoping that things have improved but one week I'll get a large donair and it's a large and tastes good, next week ill order a large donair and get a small burnt one. same thing with donair subs. I just paid $15 for a large donair, it was tiny and the sauce on it taste like milk not at all like donair sauce. Done with spending good money and getting something different every time I won't try again that's for sure.“

Tuna Salad

“We happened upon this convenient sandwich shop as we walked from the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic (see separate review) to the Citadel via Sackville Street. As You Like It is at the corner of Sackville and Barrington streets. For those in a hurry, there's a "Grab and Go" cooler with ready-made sandwiches, but we went for fresh-made tuna salad ($6.95 CD) and crab salad ($6.95 CD) sandwiches. From a choice of several breads, we chose multi-grain. Good sandwiches, wraps, salads, fruit here. There are a few small tables for those who wish to eat inside. Recommended.“

“I think this is the place where you can get a Veggie option, I've ordered veggie burger and if you like mushroom then there's cheesy mushroom topping that you can add on your burger. It comes with various toppings and sauces to choose and it is definitely fulfilling. Especially for vegetarians, this is an option u can try, although the veggie patty in the burger is not that great to taste. And there is an option to choose between white bread or multi grain bread, there's no such burger store in my knowledge provides a multi grain burger. So it's good ?Vegetarian options: You get pure veggie burger here“
