Alteregos is one of my favorite haunts; I really cannot recommend this place enough.
I have been coming to Alteregos for years and even wrote large parts of my master's thesis in this cafe! I love the edgy, alternative, yet inclusive community-oriented vibe; I love how they support local art and culture; and I really freakin' love the delicious yet healthy eats!

Alteregos Cafe & Catering is a beloved spot in Halifax, known for its great coffee, delicious food, and friendly staff. With a lovely vibe, many customers enjoy the care and friendship that the staff, like Rielle, bring to their service. Be sure to try the Alter Eggo sandwich, a local favorite. The cafe is also wheelchair accessible, making it a welcoming place for everyone. Despite some mixed opinions on the coffee, the charm and sense of community keep customers coming back. Visitors from near and far, including those from Cape Breton and Ontario, find it to be a gem in the north end of Halifax, where great food and drinks await.
