Tried capturing it a little differently this time. We always go for their sandwiches (the menu changes, but everything is consistently delicious).

Highly recommend pairing it with an iced strawberry matcha or a caramel latte (iced or hot). The hojicha was new on the menu too, and it did not disappoint!“

“Went in not knowing it was plant based. I typically don’t like oat milk but it was the best oat latte I’ve had!! The donuts are literally to die for. However, staff weren’t extremely friendly and every time I’ve gone they have been very impatient and short (and it wasn’t even busy or anything).“

“We had the pleasure of eating at Bird’s Nest today, Chicken Club Sandwiches (and we have our usual cup of coffee everyday there too) The food is outstanding, based on fresh seasonal ingredients clearly put together by a chef that has a true passion for food! The service was fantastic as always, and their staff is so friendly, and they know our usual orders by now. “Three guests in our party. Ate lunch there enjoying the Broccoli and Cheese Quiches with coffees and a hot chocolate. Quiches were very light, flavourful and incredibly filling. As we were celebrating a birthday, a dessert was selected by each of us: a chocolate cheesecake square, a peanut butter square with chocolate layer on top and an apple dessert as big as your head made with puff pastry and sweet apple filling. Verdict? Delicious!“

“I’ve been saying for some time that Halifax needs more independent coffee shops. When I discovered Byron in December, I was delighted and it did not disappoint. Staffed by fun engaging personnel, they take pride in their work, are welcoming, and engaging. It makes you not only want to stay, but return. Great location too!

“A very sophisticated, clean, and welcoming café. I had a flat white along with an espresso brownie. The coffee was excellent, and the brownie was very tasty—slightly firm on the outside but soft and rich on the inside. The lady at the counter, who I believe may be the owner, was extremely kind, and everyone was warm and friendly. Overall, a lovely spot with great coffee and a nice atmosphere.“

“What a great find while I discovered visiting Halifax. Everything I’ve tried is tasty. The tomato butter is delicious!“

“Tried here this morning for breakfast at about 8:30. Luckily found street parking just around the block on Shirley St. Weekdays, this area is more of a challenge, due to construction as well as it just being a very busy area by the hospital.
Anyway, the place is quite big inside, with seating for at least 30. High ceilings, all natural lighting, cute decor touches.
All food seems to be pre-made, but at least it must be made this morning. Tried the egg croissant ($8), which was very fresh. Soft, fluffy scrambled egg, arugula, tomato, garlic aioli. For light eaters, it would be enough on its own. Tried the spanish latte, ie condensed milk with espresso, they say. Simple, but satisfying. Grabbed a chocolate hazelnut danish lastly, which was quite good, with flavorful Nutella (or alternative) inside. Very soft & fresh.
In my approximate 30 mins there, a handful of other customers came in. Low noise level overall, but imagine when at max busy times, it could get louder.
Friendly service, not chatty, but warm.

“Tony is the nicest man you'd ever meet. As someone who has worked in this mall for a decade, I know that I will always get a warm experience. My favorite item is their breakfast pita, which has scrambled egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and can add cheese. It's perfect for an easy breakfast that will hold you over til lunch. Sometimes I grab an afternoon snack here, which may be a Nanaimo bar, peanut butter cookie, etc. I haven't tried their pizza slices yet, but heard they are decent! Please support this lovely family if you can. (FYI I am not family or friends, trying to push reviews).“

Perfect coffee, friendly and professional staff, delicious pastries (my husband said it was the best croissant he’s had outside of Montreal!).
