“I called ahead for a pickup order shortly after 7pm, and the order was ready by 7:30, which was perfect for us, especially on Valentine's Day! We even bought a bottle of sake, and took everything to-go. It was amazing quality sushi and sashimi, and the beginner sake recommend was amazing! Will absolutely be back again soon!“

“If you're looking for an "asian" flare to your seafood dinner, this is an excellent choice. The oysters were fresh and good quality, and the rack of lamb was amazing as well.Seemed like the night we went it was quite busy, and with that, we sat close together with our neighboring tables. Thankfully the folks next to us rotated in and out, so we were not in between two tables that were dining at the same time. But you'll be too busy eating your delicious meal to notice once the food hits the table!“
“A real authentic Japanese restaurant which might be the only one owned by a Japanese chef…? It is kind of hard to find on this touristy strip in downtown but it’s worth walking through the whole length of the short strip to find their door. Sushi is freshly made and tastes very good. The service is also excellent. Good, thoughtful pricing and anyone can afford their fine cuisine.Vegetarian options: Sushi, tempuraDietary restrictions: Gluten free (but not soy sauce)“
“oh my lord. i wish i still lived in Halifax so i could eat here all the time. the quality is out of this world!!! i regret not ordering more of it!!! ? amazing nigiri, maki, sushi pizza and tempura. can’t wait to order here again next time we’re in the city.“
“"This Japanese restaurant is truly a bright spot in everyday life! Stepping inside feels like strolling down a street in Japan. Their sushi is exceptional, each bite fresh and delicious. The sashimi is tender and juicy, unquestionably top-notch quality. And those classic dishes like ramen and tempura? Absolutely delightful. The service is attentive, making you feel like you're among friends. Overall, it's the kind of place that makes your everyday life a bit brighter!"“
“Such good sushi! My favourite in Halifax for sure On top of that, the staff is lovely and the deals are unbeatable. We just picked up a lot of sushi for a party, but we also eat in whenever we get the chance.Vegetarian options: There are lots of veggieootikns.“
“Tokyo Roll is an amazing little sushi restaurant. The owners are delightful and friendly. Their excellent sushi follows the same trend, with a diverse menu and quick service! This is my go to spot for something to eat, and I cannot recommend it highly enough!!!“
“This is the best ramen shop in the province! We’ve been to every one we can find, and these guys take the cake! We drive all the way over from Eastern Passage, more often then I’d like to admit, just to get a bowl! We’ve been doing this since 2016 :) Try the Hokkaido ramen! Extra spicy if you can handle it ;)“
“Amazing good food! Prices have recently been updated as well, so here is the most up to date menu as of June 2023. I’m from the west coast and the first spot I dined in here on the east coast was Minato sushi! The old school pink classic building just stood out from the rest of the surrounding buildings. It’s well worth it! And it’s only run by husband and wife, super kind and generous vibes from them. Recommend trying it if you are looking for some good Japanese food.“
“Thr dinner menu here is amazing, however I have noticed at lunch the quality is not as good. Servoce and ambience are great!Vegetarian options: Loads of options for vegetariansParking: Parking is not too hard to find as there are a large number of public parking lots nearby“
“I eat sashimi rice bowl once a month because I have something to do. There is also a proper amount of sashimi on top of the rice, and the sauce for red pepper paste(초고추장) is especially delicious. If you like sashimi rice bowl, it is recommended to eat sashimi bowl of rice here at least once.“
“Fabulous, fresh, and delicious - hands-down the best sushi in Halifax, and among the best I've had across Canada. A tiny restaurant, it is best for take-out (or delivery), but oh so good, right down to fresh, home-made chopped wasabi. Forget the 'AYCE' sushi joints - this is the real deal.“
“This restaurant produces good sushi, however, portions could be a little larger. Incredibly disappointed with the tuna Tataki, I should have checked the take out prior to leaving. It was very small for the $ and had this strange incredibly hot seasoning exteriolly instead if the traditional crunchy coating. It was actually inedible. The reader needs to know this was the first item I have been displeased with.“
“Love this little place. We found it over a month ago. The server is always cheerful, charming and accommodating as well as knowledgeable. The food is wonderful the spring rolls are crispy and flavourful.I love the mango salad option so fresh and tasty. Tried the Korean BBQ it has a savory curry sauce and was just amazing..We have started bringing family and friends now, and they love it too.My husband loves the sushi tuna platter and gets his sushi fix while I can get anything else, it's all tasty and flavorful.Don't let the word get out too far. It's just our sweet little secret. ??Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available.Dietary restrictions: Always willing to accommodate dietary restrictions.Kid-friendliness: Haven't seen any small children in there.“
“While I won’t consider myself a big fan of sushi(seafood doesn’t suit me sadly) I accompanied my close friends to this restaurant.I ordered a Ton Katsu Don (Deep-Fried Pork) while my friends got a Spicy Salmon Roll and Vegetable Dragon Roll. I must say the Don was absolutely perfect. This will be a guaranteed order from my end whenever I visit again. It honestly couldn’t be any better. My friend also liked their orders although they didn’t call it the best in Halifax so maybe that crown belongs to some other Sushi restaurant in their books. We were also given free spring rolls and ice cream as there was some offer for dine-in during specific hours. There are extremely rare instances where the Service and Hospitality trumps the food quality of a place for me, but happily this was one. Thank you again to the entire staff of Zen House for your kindness and excellent service.I can definitely recommend this place to anyone who wishes to try some authentic Japanese cuisine in Halifax.Vegetarian options: They have a menu for vegetarian sushi rolls.“
