We saw this restaurant as a choice to go too while planning our vacation. So glad we went, liked it so much we went the next night. We sat in the pub downstairs, loved the atmosphere, my husband had the turkey pie and I hade the chicken and leak pie the first night, the pastry was so nice. the second night we had the fish and chips and the pan fried haddock. This was our favorite spot to eat in Halifax.
It was so good, we came twice on our 3 days trip! The beers are really good, and the food... fish and chips, sheperds pie, bangers and mash and beef and champignons pie!! Everything was good, but the pie... was awsome !
I sat at the bar in the basement area. Bartender was friendly with great food recommendations. The reuben sammy was dynamite. The irish stout I had in lieu of Guinness was delightful. Atmosphere was buzzy but still quiet enough to enjoy conversation. The place is in a gorgeous old building. I will definitely be back.
