11 Best Ice Cream Shops in Halifax

“Working to visit as many ice cream shops in the Halifax area this summer. Dee Dee’s was our first stop and it did not disappoint! Super friendly and helpful staff and the ice cream…wow, the ice cream was divine!

Orange cardamom and Mexican chocolate were both delicious“

“Best convenient store in the world. Where else can you get eggs, milk, bread, the greatest variety of different kind of cakes and cheesecakes.... Cereal, canned goods, gum, decadent sundaes and shakes....etc. Disney World is the 2nd happiest place in the world now... Flynns is no. 1!“

“Really delicious ice cream, and the ‘fog cones’ are such a unique idea!
The shop is really lovely and aesthetic inside and the staff were very friendly.
I chose the ‘Choc a Lot’ fog cone and thoroughly enjoyed it!!
It was a bit messy, so grab extra napkins.

The brownie bites were a fantastic touch, and the cotton candy ‘fog’ was delicious!

Allergy note: I was so pleased to discover that the Fog Company was very accommodating of my nut allergies!“

“While not the delicious soft-serve they seem to have a line down the block for, they have an option for non-dairy! Their vegan ice cream is not made in house and looks like it would rotate. I had the Earl grey biscoff flavour and it was just okay, not super flavourful on either side but had a rich creamy base. Their whole menu is well marked with what add ons are vegan/gf as well! “I went in to buy a milkshake for a friend who was sick. I ordered the chocolate peanut butter shake. I asked if they were thick and the reponse was a wonderful smile and "We can make it however you want it". The milkshakeologist rolled up her sleeves, pulled her hair back, washed her hands and started her magic. She scooped, poured, drizzled and mixed, scooped, poured and mixed some more before the final two drizzles and it was done. I was taken back at just much effort went into one shake. My friend said it tasted amazing and she will be visiting the shop herself. I will be going back to get one of the decadent milkshakes or sundaes and cannot wait! Fantastic first experience!“

“A true Halifax landmark right in my neighbourhood. Tonight I witnessed amazing customer service. There were only two women taking care of both the front counter and drive thru and they nailed it. Watching them help each other out showed great teamwork.“

“Overall, I’ve had good experiences here with the staff, food, and atmosphere. My only real complaint is the inconsistency with the Blizzard cakes over the years.

Sometimes they’re packed with a good amount of filling and they’re great, but other times it feels pretty stingy, especially considering how expensive they are. For the price, I’d just like to see them be a bit more consistent.“
