“I've been living in Halifax for over 10 years and was quite surprised to stumble upon this place last evening. It did not disappoint!Firstly it is located in a nice, quaint spot downtown with lots of available street parking nearby. I was first impressed by the decor of the interior. It was modern, bright and very inviting.The service was also top notch.. The server was friendly and observant. He didnt allow our glasses to run empty before refilling them. He noticed when we were using alot of the sauces and quickly offered more. It didnt matter how much we used, he was keen to ask if we wanted more as if they had an unlimited supply. We appreciated that! He was friendly, interactive and very professional.The food was tasty!! We really enjoyed the Pho and the broth was so comforting. I could definitely drink it by the cups lol. We also bought some spring rolls. I believe they are a bit over priced at $7 for 2 rolls, but they were pretty tasty nonetheless. The experience was wonderful. I would definitely go back!“
“I love pho and I love this place. Im from Vancouver so I have some high expectations for asian food but no Vietnamese restaurant here has met my expectations for pho until this place. They are generous with the noodles, the meat, and its all in a big bowl. Everything is all actually made in house (beef balls, hot sauce) and its super delicious. I love I Love Pho“
“Ordered through DoorDash and they were super fast. Food was hot, flavourful, filling and delicious! Offers several vegan options, it was hard to choose what I wanted. I got the bulgogi tofu wrap and a mint lemonade, so yummy!!!Vegetarian options: Excellent vegan options, labeled clearly.“
“I visited Fong Sing for the first time a few weeks ago. I had the chicken pho and a spring roll. The portion was huge and full of flavour. I loved the house hotsauce, but be warned: Siracha this is not. It definitely brings the heat! I overheard the table next to us warning their friend about how hot it was and advising them to skip it. Just something to keep in mind. The service was fast and friendly.“
“Went for lunch today and had the Pho and the "Banh Mi" (meat bread). The good: The broth of the Pho is easily the best in HRM, great flavour and mouth feel and you can actually see some liquid fat floating there. The noodle were well cooked and the portion of beef was good. The baguette of the banh mi was excellent as was the meat. The not so good: The choice of meat for the Pho was very basic. There are many of us out there that would like very rare beef, beef ball, tendon and even tripe. I've never seen this option offered in Halifax and would be very impressed if I did. The Pho also needs more accompaniments, I got a small segment of lime, an ample supply of mung bean sprout and one piece of cilantro. I want to see Thai Basil and bird eye chili, and more cilantro and lime. The "Banh Mi" has one option for filling and while it is very good, I would like to see a variety of options. Cold cuts, pates, pork belly slices, satay beef should be a standard variety of options. I'd also like to see it offered as a banh mi sandwich with kewpie, pickled daikon/carrot, cucumber, cilantro and chili's. The Verdict: I will be back. The Pho and meat bread, while basic are very well done. I would be back even more frequently if some of my suggestions about were added. There is a real need for solid Pho and Banh Mi on the peninsula and Red Satay is the closest yet and it wouldn't take much to elevate it to a weekly must go.“
