We held a private party for 30 guests including clients and business partners in 2 Doors Down's bar and had exceptional food, drink, and service. An amazing success and a stellar experience.
So sad this place is closing. The service is excellent and the food has been consistently great over the years. I truly hope the new owners and restaurant takes on this team as they are all truly so kind and welcoming.
2 Doors Down is one of (if not absolutely) my favourite restaurants in Halifax. Cocktails are always great. We really enjoy the food too ( especially the smash burgers and Korean fired chicken). We would highly recommend this restaurant.
2 Doors Down Food & Wine Halifax is a fantastic restaurant known for its knowledgeable servers and timely service. The atmosphere is bright, and there are plenty of gluten-free options available. Guests have enjoyed appetizers like the Cheeseboard Toastie and Buttermilk Biscuits, which come with whipped butter and molasses. The Scallop and Pork Belly, as well as the Herb & Garlic Roasted Chicken mains, are also delightful. Specials such as the 2024 Burger Bash and the Donair Smashburger with honey drizzled onion rings have received great reviews. The brown rice risotto and haddock are standout dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and care. The mushroom bruschetta and calamari are very tasty, though the space can be a bit noisy for conversation. Servers are friendly and accommodating, with deep knowledge of the wine selection. The chef clearly pours heart and soul into the flavour and presentation. The restaurant is small but mighty, making it feel cozy yet busy, especially during peak times. It is conveniently located downtown, making it a great choice for visitors and private events. Recent reviews highlight the restaurant's great food and service, with mentions of the pork belly dish being one of the best ever and the deep fried macaroni log offering an interesting take on pasta. The ambiance is praised, and reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are often accommodated. The restaurant’s fresh food and interesting twists on well-known items, like the hot honey on onion rings, add to its popularity.
