I'm here in Halifax for a business trip, I ordered BBQ with rice, homemade atsara, and 4 pieces of isaw. Before ordering, I called the restaurant and asked if I could have some soup since I was feeling sick and really needed something hot. It’s a Filipino thing, when we’re sick, we have to have soup, sweat it out, take some medicine, and we’re good after that! 😄

The kuya (brother) who answered said, “No problem, I’ll make sure you get your soup, nilaga soup, okay?” I said yes, please!
To note, its not even in their Menu to sell just the soup..

When my food arrived at the hotel, I saw a little note on the soup saying “Get well.” 🥹 They remembered! It might seem like a small gesture, but it truly touched my heart.

Dinner was delicious, everything was 10/10! Thank you, Allano’s, for the amazing food and for warming my Filipino heart. 🇵🇭❤️

Amazing food. Everything we ordered was so flavorful.pork bbq and pork belly was great. Dinuguan was so rich with a nice bit of spice. Service was great. Such a quaint little treasure.

I'm a Filipino that grew up in Vancouver. Whenever I travel I try to eat a Filipino restaurant. I've been to New York, Florida, Vegas, Houston, Europe, etc. This place has the best lugaw. I wish I didn't indulge in the garlic rice, tuyo and spam/maling because the lugaw was the best.

Nice, simple food. I got the Breaded/Fried Chicken which came with sticky rice, a couple of scoops of veggies, and the perfect amount of gravy. Chicken was good! Not too greasy, good amount of thickness on the fry; very enjoyable.

I'm keen to go back and try more traditional Filipino dishes.

As someone who’d ordered the BBQ pork skewer meal at least 20 times in the past two months, it’s fair to say this place is my favourite spot to eat in the city. I even paid $5 to get into the filipino festival last month because their location was closed as they were serving at the festival and I was desperate for my pork skewers (would have stayed to enjoy the festival but I was on my lunch break, it looked awesome!). I first went there about 3 years ago and the food has been consistently amazing. I believe it’s a family business and everyone is very kind and welcoming, 100% recommend! Their chicken sizzling plate is also amazing:)
