Had a matcha latte that was good but had SO much ice in it. Felt like I drank it in 2 gulps and just paid for a cup of ice... ? However the barista was very nice at least!

Great coffee but the baked goods leave me sad. The last two times I bought a treat at the Halifax Library cafe they’ve been dry and stale and pale imitations of what I expected. Today’s cinnamon roll was just a swirl of bready dough with almost no sugary cinnamon filling and just a scant drizzle on top. It crumbled as I peeled it open. It looks far better than it was. Come on Ampersand, please do better!

Came to buy an iced Americano because I really liked their coffee. Was first in line and I was the only one there. After the barista took my order a couple of minutes later there were people lining behind me. I can LITERALLY see my coffee was made already but for some reason that lady did NOT give me my order until I approached her and asked where my order was. I was standing there looking stupid for 10 minutes. So absent minded. Said "oh did you already order" WHAT??? The machine was literally just in front of her? And she can literally see a cup on the espressos machine.

I cannot digest onion. Not a single item on the menu is listed to have onion on it. I waited in line for 10 minutes to be told there is not a single item on the menu that comes without onion, and they can’t do anything with no onion since everything is pre-made. The owner was rude and patronizing to me about my food intolerance. Everything about this interaction was extremely unprofessional. Food establishments, especially in big cities, should offer a variety of items to accommodate for different diets. This place has 8 sandwiches and 6 salads. They should have one item that doesn’t contain onion on that menu.

Nice ambiance, but they should find a way to keep the cakes fresh. I had a slice of the chocolate salted caramel cake and it was very dry and hard.

Basic baked goodies (almond honey croissant was weak, chocolate croissant (they call it chocolate avalanche) was basic) but great sandwich (got the turkey mayo, was toasted in panini press and was fantastic). Server was a bit distracted even though I only ordered a basic black coffee but overall, would come back for another

The chai latte here is the best one I’ve ever had. It was toe-curling level of scrumptious. The baristas were also very lovely :)

Best cold brew I’ve ever had, and the berry coffee cake…yum! Big serving and incredibly moist.

Tried this place twice for good measure. Each time customer service has been lacking and just so uncaring. The mediocre coffee is not worth dealing with the folks here.
