Excellent homemade food! Filled our bellies with healthy homemade breakfast! Staff made us feel so welcome and have huge warm hearts. Left feeling full in our hearts….. excellent way to start our day!

This place is a total gem. The dining area is quite cozy but comfortably so. The food was genuinely made from scratch including the bread which was very good. The little salad next to my eggs Benedict was surprisingly good too, they could have gotten away with throwing down a spinach leaf or two but there was a good variety of tasty veggies. Good coffee too. Surprisingly for such a small place they have an espresso machine too. Prices are very reasonable. As for the one bad review I saw I can only imagine they were having a bad day, the kind where things spiral out of control. We’ve all been there. The waiter did bring cream and milk to the table in the full containers, and put them back in the fridge when we were done. No waste that way, and it just went along with the homey vibe for me but I can see how it might lead to a spill. I also liked that the whole kitchen is open to the front. Overall, a highlight of my trip to Halifax.

The owner Annie is a sweetheart. I have known her since I was a kid, and she has always been amazing. Please, if you are around and debating on going here, do it. You will not regret it.

A wonderful experience in a cute hidden gem of Halifax. Despite living in the city for ages, this was my first visit and it was a true delight. Delicious, beautiful, but unpretentious food was prepared by Annie herself, quickly and served with a smile. Seating for a dozen or fewer, the shop has an eclectic collection of tables and chairs, along with hand-written chalkboard menu and decor around the shop - I found it all enchanting. 10/10 Would gladly recommend.

A very small but cute place, we decided to sit outside because it was just too hot and cramped. Staff was friendly enough, but that's about all I can say was a positive. I ordered bacon, eggs and toast, and a latte. I was excited for the homemade bread.Right from the start, the cook seemed discouraged about how fast she could get the order out. Not a concern, we're on vacation. But we didn't even get our drinks until after the food came. And that was the very first time I've ever had burnt coffee. I didn't know what burned coffee tasted like until today. The toast tasted like nothing, there was nothing or very little butter on it. I wanted my eggs over easy, they came out right but my bacon was very overcooked. I was just disappointed and couldn't drink the latte.I felt like we paid too much ($40) and wanted to ask for a refund for at least the coffees, but I felt bad doing that to a small business. I just went and grabbed coffee at McDonald's after.I'm sorry that I gave such a low rating, but I honestly don't think the good reviews are honest. There needs to be 1 more person probably helping out with the cooking, so the quality can improve and things don't come out overcooked or burned.

We had a great breakfast, and didn’t have to wait despite the place indeed being tiny (maybe 5 tables, two of which were taken by regulars it seemed). Annie is very nice, and greets everyone personally; our waitress was very attentive.Everything is homemade (including bread), and tastes truly homemade. The serving size is just right. Coffee was good too.We will definitely return if in Halifax again.PS: Note that the pricing on their website is quite outdated, and they do take cards now:)

The omelette and scrambled eggs were pretty flavorful and well cooked. The other food was terrible. Bread for the toast was dense and flavorless, and it wasn't toasted enough (no color) or buttered enough (barely any). The French toast was made with the same dense, bland bread, and it didn't have enough egg, so the texture was all wrong. The "cinnamon" roll was also the wrong texture, had almost no cinnamon, and for some reason had a small pocket of chocolate chips and coconut. The server was nice enough, though she brought us eggs that were ordered by a different table (and then didn't take them to the other table, but instead left them with us).
