We brought our little one here and I have very fond memories of eating Ethiopian when I lived on John Street in Hamilton, ON. It was everything I remember unique about those Ethiopian families. Fresh Buna, unique dishes that always taste insanely good. It's a must revisit place every time I come to Halifax.

This was my first visit and won't be my last. Food was delicious 😋. I'm a fan of Ethiopian food and this meal didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was good. The person who served us was very friendly. A good meal, very affordable. Tip: try the raspberry hibiscus drink or mango limeade. Both are tasty and refreshing.

This place restored my faith in the possibility of eating out feeling like it was worth it. I've had many pedestrian experiences lately and was losing hope but the food here was incredible! The spicing of the dishes is refined, the textures are melt in your mouth, and the atmosphere is like your family kitchen, relaxed and friendly. I couldn't recommend this place more, go today!

Popped in for a quick to go vegetable beyaynetu and it was absolutely stunning. Spices were perfection, extremely tasty, healthy, and the best part is it’s all gluten-free! Will absolutely be back with friends

We were in the area at dinnertime and were looking for a place with a high rating, so we decided to check out Aster Cafe. And we're so glad we did! The food was delicious and ethnically different than other places in Halifax. The service was fantastic, and the owner/chef came by our table to see if there was anything that we needed (and she was thrilled that we loved her food). Wonderful place for a lovely introduction to Ethiopian food!

Extremely good Ethiopian fare in a friendly atmosphere. If you're visiting from out of town, the short drive from downtown is definitely worth it.
