Knew that there would be live music playing but could not have anticipated the amazing show that Mike Cowie & John Alphonse and their band put on- it even got some up and dancing. What a blast! The place was packed with what would seems like mostly regulars who knew where to find great music.
First visit to Halifax. I was looking for Gaelic music, or maybe blues. Everyone said to go here. So I did.
No Gaelic music, no blues. Instead I found THE GREEN REFLECTORS, two brothers (Kyle & Aaron) blasting out original rock songs at thermonuclear volume. Great stuff! Reminded me of the infamous CBGB's and Mud Club of 1980 NYC! (Yeah, I lived there at the time, and I'm old enough to remember them fondly.)

At Bearly's...
New location, same great music. I like what they've done with the place. It feels a lot like the old Bearly's location on Barrington, cramped, but not in a bad way. I think they still need to figure out the food situation. I really think they should just switch to standard bar fare like: chicken wings, nachos and fries (keep it simple, but good quality).
