Did the food review on this place grabbed a quick lunch from their takeout menu I had the fried chicken sandwich that had a pretzel bun. This was great it had a sweetness to it with just a little bit of kick the taters it came with were crispy and well seasoned. I also had the blueberry smoothie which was great . They do catering and They also serve alcohol.

One of the good cafe in south end, Halifax.Things of order:1. Hot chocolate - made with premium chocolate. One of best hot chocolate my husband ever had.2. Caramel latte - tbh It wasn’t good. It was caramel latte but major missing was caramel flavour. Very average coffee.3. Breakfast tacos - one of tastiest breakfast taco I had. Side dip was super super good. Potato was crispy and crunchy.4. Sunrier sandwich - it was okiesh not so great about it.Cafe ambiance was too chaotic. Everyone was chit chatting plus music was too loud. But if you ignore loud music and people it has quite Instagramble vibe. I love theme plant and all white plain walls.I felt food bit overpriced. Overall good cafe not so great about it except hot chocolate.

Great vibe, freshness, and portion for the price! With everywhere charging $17-23 for a meal, the difference here is the care in fresh ingredients and subtle flavours. Plus, generious portions (both of us took half our meals to go!).My friend had the Brekkie and it was a thing of beauty and variety. I had the breakfast tacos and I loved the thoughtful flavour combo with the dipping sauce (green, forgot what it was). Also, the dusting of cheese on the tators? So nice.Atmosphere is laid back, not too fancy, with variety of seating (tables, stools, shared table). I came dressed up but most people were in comfort clothes and fit right in. There were young families, couples, and friends catching up. Great relaxed vibe. We waited 6 minutes on a Sunday at 12pm because we didn't make a reservation but not akward at all. An easy wait - this is brunch after all: you take your time to enjoy your meal!Service was wonderful and friendly, too. This was the first time for friend and I: she kept hearing good things and I'm so glad she suggested it! Great spot!

Location a little loud: nothing on walls to absorb sound. Friendly great service, excellent beakfast tacos. Everything on the plate looked homemade. Great coffee. BUT NO FREE REFILLS ON COFFEE. At 3.50 for a drip coffee I'd have thought refills woukd be in there. Or tack on a $1 a refill charge. I would have made a different breakfast choice had I have known.

I’ve been coming here since it first opened a few years ago. There is not a single item on their menu that isn’t exceptional. Amazing food and even better pastries. I love how they change up the flavors of their pastries and focaccia bread and they never disappoint. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a great breakfast/brunch or a great coffee and pastry!! This place is truly one of the best not so hidden gems in Halifax!!

Original post 2022: Would give a 4.5 actually. Come early or make reservations! I got lucky here for breakfast around 9am on a snowy Saturday morning. By the time I left, all tables were full or had reserved signs on them. Seating for maybe 30 or so? Gets quitr loud as it gets busy. Bright, cute, simple cafe with high ceilings. Very friendly staff. I tried the breakfast tacos (two corn tortillas with candied jalapeño, black beans, poached eggs, a sauce that I forget), which includes a side of parmesan home fries with a basil cream sauce, for $18. All very delicious and filling! Was hard to decide from the menu because the handful of breakfast items they have, all look very good. Also tried a cinnamon heart latte, their obvious special for Valentines week. ($5) A good size portion, not too sweet.2nd and 3rd visits: breakfast again with the same friend both times. The Brekkie is great. My scrambled eggs were done to perfection. He asked for burnt eggs, and the cook actually sent them out on a plate by the server, to see if they were good enough. Awesome customer service for doing that, and the eggs were just what he likes. The sausage is tasty as sin, with whatever herbs it's made with. Tasty, buttery, almost crunchy toast with the crust cut off? Greens add a touch of health to the plate. LOL The two bacon strips are cooked perfectly flat, like a ruler, which I picked up and ate with my fingers. Excellent fresh home fries with parmesan with chunks of various sizes, just the right amount of greasiness. The Lucky Charms latte for St Paddy's was very fun with a few marshmallows on top, and great tasting drink itself without being too sweet. The only thing I find is that the atmosphere is a bit loud bc the high ceiling echo I guess?4th visit: a beautiful Wednesday morning in May 2023 and was surprised that the place was busy at 9am on a weekday. Not full, but close to it. Had the tacos again and this time was too full to finish them. Tried the special birthday cake latte, which was tasty, not too sweet, but heavy and that added to my fullness. My friend got the basic brekkie again and was consistently as good as last time.5th visit: Feb 2024 on a cool Friday right at 8am opening. First customers of the day. We each got the Brekkie, this visit mine with poached eggs. Gave my meats and most of the potatoes to my friend to save on some calories myself, but was still very content and satisfied eating the toast and both of our greens, with my eggs. All ingredients are locally sourced and the bacon is by far the best in the city. By the time we left around 9, the place was about half full. Will be back!

Drip coffee is tasty, the Raspberry Poptart is DELISH, and the staff are very kind. I left my phone at my airbnb and the manager let me borrow hers to get in touch with my host. Kind humans and a great cafe!

The very best donuts and backed food In Halifax… but they can’t seem to make a latte. Burnt milk 3/5 times I’ve tried. The baked good though- worth making the extra stop for.

Expensive but… the food is really tasty. Nice and spacious inside, although often busy. If just going for a coffee, not my go to. It is great tasting but on par with other independent coffee shops nearby that are less expensive.

Always a pleasure to visit this place! The food is amazing, fresh, flavourful, and the textures of the plates are on point. The service is friendly and the decor is very luminous and instagrammable!

I came in a little over an hour before they closed. The restaurant was about a third full and when I asked to not sit in high traffic areas or at the bar since the restaurant was half empty, they refused saying that its policy that people coming in alone need to sit at the bar or in two specific tables that everyone is constantly walking by. Feels a bit silly that they are so insistent about this when the place is gearing up to close and can’t possibly expect a rush. Left rather than sit somewhere I knew I wouldn’t enjoy after asking the host a couple of times to not sit there.
