Friendly staff, unlimited refills of coffee or tea, and a breakfast menu with lots of options at reasonable prices. Home fries have a spice blend that elevates them above similar options at other restaurants. Our server Katie was friendly and quite accommodating and let us order piecemeal off of the sides menu. Reservations recommended for peak times.

Unfortunately this local landmark is a tourist trap. We heard nothing but rave reviews about the lobster roll and clam chowder. Should call it potato chowder! When you can count the pieces of lobster in a lobster roll you know you it’s not legit. The lobster was fresh at least. I wish I just went to a local Donair take place and save $70 bucks.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant after hearing about it from a friend and making the trip from Vancouver.

We started with calamari, then my wife enjoyed the fresh lobster dinner—the best value in town—complete with a tasty clam chowder and the BEST rice pudding we’ve ever had! I had the steak and lobster, and the steak was cooked to perfection.

Our server, Hawk, was outstanding- warm, attentive, and even arranged a cab for us. The whole experience was memorable, and this place truly won our hearts. We’ll definitely be back!

Two of us wanting to take away a good food experience from our last day in Halifax.
Service was good but the food disappointing!
The seafood platter was greasy and with overcooked lemon-drenched seafood and overcooked vegetables.
The same applied to a plate of pan fried haddock and vegetables that came with lemon-drenched batter AND topped with a lemon slice to boot!

This restaurant is located at a busy intersection so it catches your eye after walking by a few times.

Get the whole lobster instead of the lobster roll, it tastes fresher and better with butter; plus the clam chowder is tasty. Lobster roll was pretty disappointing with the bread being too hard and given the tiniest scoop of lobster.

Lobster dinner was $49 and lobster roll $26 (before taxes + tip)

Reservations not needed, coming on a Friday night they were maybe 2/3 full.

Needed a lobster roll quickly — popped in, ordered one to go, and left with a delicious meal in minutes. Efficient, friendly staff and reasonable price for the area.

Bluenose II is the place to go with family and friends if you visit Halifax, Nova Scotia! They have an extensive menu but the best is the lobster supper which is a three course meal! Sometimes they forget to bring the fresh hot bun with the soup - but if you ask them to bring it they will.

I had some good lobster. The steak was thin and overcooked.

From New Jersey, came off of Royal Caribbean cruise and this is hands down the BEST lobster rolls I ever had! The atmosphere was comfortable and vibrant. Service was very nice and attentive.

This appeared to be the only place we ate in Halifax where we didn’t feel we were getting ripped off. And not too many places around to enjoy a simple or a seafood breakfast. I had bacon, eggs & gluten free toast. My mates enjoyed eggs Benedict with a very generous portion of lobster. And generous does not appear to be in the vocabulary of most other restaurants on the waterfront.

Absolutely overrated. The lobster roll is alright but nothing special, lobster is fresh but HOT DOG BUN???

The restaurant itself shows its age, table wasn’t clean properly and we had to ask the waiter to clean our seats before we can sat down. Disappointing experience.

This spot is a hidden gem for good food! The vibe is pleasant and casual, making it perfect for a relaxed meal. While prices might be a tad high for the portion sizes, the location justifies the cost compared to other local restaurants. Thanks to our local friend for the recommendation – we weren't disappointed! We'll definitely be back during our trip
