Staff were really good, I walked in and placed my order and was out of there in under 10 minutes. The fries were excellent however with all the reviews I was a little disappointed by the ribs. I found them pretty flavourful however they were definitely on the dry side.
Maybe it was an off night but for a BBQ place I really expected a bit better.

Brisket was dry and hard to eat way overcooked, ribs were mediocre felt like they were put in a microwave. those plus 2 sides and a drink for 30$ is a waste of time

I’m truly broken hearted to be writing this review. I’m not someone who ever writes reviews but I just had to with this one - boneheads has been my go to “treat yourself” meal since I moved to Halifax more than 10 years ago. Now I won’t be coming back. The food has completely taken a dive, while the prices have remained. I JUST had a baby so of course I wanted to treat myself and my husband to our favourite BBQ (and in our opinion what WAS the best BBQ in the city) what we received was just sad. All meat was dry and tasteless, the normally incredible cornbread was dry and overcooked and the Mac and cheese just isn’t what it used to be. This is a place I was considering as catering for my wedding, but sadly I wouldn’t even think of it now. They used to have the most amazing variety of BBQ sauce and even that tastes different. I’m so saddened and honestly wish I saved myself the $70 and got fast food instead! I’m someone who’s incredibly loyal to my local places and I feel betrayed by what was once my favourite spot.

The meats in my order, beef brisket, pulled pork and ribs were nicely seasoned, not over sauced or over cooked. The side mac and cheese was very good. I couldn’t finish it all and had it boxed up.
I am visting Halifax and the CS BBQ sticker on the front door caught my eye. I was a judge for CS BBQ in Ottawa many years ago so I had to go in. So should you for some seriously tasty BBQ.

Reviews on this place were varied at best - naysayers are missing out. Had BBQ in Lunenburg where the pulled pork was watery, brisket tough and cost $100 with tip for two of us. This place? Amazingly tender brisket, crisp sausage, flavorful ribs and yes moist cornbread. Plus no long wait, 3 bbq sauces at the table to choose from and meal was $40 with tip for two of us. The real deal. (Aka we’re definitely going back!)

My in-laws raved about this place so I had to try it. After my meal was left feeling underwhelmed. The service was good, the atmosphere was sort of dive-bar meets eatery, and the food was mediocre. Sides weren’t bad (I did really enjoy the cornbread), but the ribs were terrible. Hard and overcooked, like they’d been sitting for hours then reheated. I was hoping for fall-off-the-bone ribs with nice, juicy meat, but was very disappointed. Sadly, I won’t be back.

We went on a Monday night for dinner around 8. Empty dine in area but doing lots of take away.
The food was unfortunately very variable. I had pork ribs which were great, chicken leg which was ok (tasted nice but starting to dry out a bit) and brisket which unfortunately was really not good - very dry. Mac and cheese was great as was the slaw was nice. Sitting in was ok, staff were friendly enough but the place could really do with a bit of upkeep as came across quite shabby and in need of some tlc. Beer selection was excellent.
So in conclusion, very mixed and unfortunately didn't hit that bbq spot I was craving. If id only had ribs, mac n cheese and slaw id have been writing a different review but the brisket really let the meal down.
