I ate once in this restaurant while staying at the Cambridge Suites Hotel. I had the fish & chips which was very good. You get a big piece of fish. The options on the rest of their menu look good as well. The staff are friendly and I didn't have to wait long for my food. I would recommend giving this place a try when in Halifax.

Canvas has a good Happy Hour. We also had French Onion Soup and a glass of wine each one night, for around $60, which I thought was pricey, which is why I am only giving it a 3 star.

Great service. Went at happy hour, specials on meals and beverages. Highly recommend the seafood chowder and haddock and fries. More than ample portions!

This is a rather cold restaurant associated with the Cambridge Suites Hotel. We won't blame them for the breakfasts, which we assume are under the control of the hotel itself. We've ordered room service on a number of occasions. Their Caesar salad, with chicken was very good. Their nachos plate needed much more cheese. I would not recommend this as a destination, if you are staying somewhere else. If you are spending a night in the hotel, room service food is pretty good.
So enjoyed our shared plates of perfect Caesar salad, tasty wings and ample nachos with a special in-house salsa. Competent, friendly service - just know the sports TVs are on - but volume is not on bust.

The food was amazing - not a huge selection but enough to offer something different every time we ate there. After a day of exploring Halifax, it was great to come back to the hotel and enjoy a great meal. Excellent prices too!!

We waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food. Which is crazy because restaurant wasn’t even busy. We were one of three tables. I had to ask another server when our food was going to come out because our server never came by. We didn’t even get our drinks refilled while we waited for our food. I think the food was edible - I was too hungry and upset to notice though. We were there for over two hours and we didn’t even get our waters refilled. This was one of the worst dining experiences ever.
