They have some of the best burgers I've ever had.

First time trying cider! Definitely worth the experience!

Great cider, I recommend getting a flight to try out different types. There was a special burger with a scallop cake… it was good, but the scallop cake overpowered IMO. They were also super busy, so it took a long time to get our food. They voluntarily gave us some free beer as compensation and were apologetic. All in all good service (we weren’t in a rush).

Service and ambiance were great! Had the fried chicken with a side of fries, and did not like the chicken at all. Was soggy and did not taste like chicken. Will go back, but prob won't go for the food!

The food was awful. Had the southern fried chicken. It was odd texture, a bit soft, and weird flavour and was cold in parts like it had been reheated. Definitely no hot honey on there but a very sriracha meets Dave’s forward sauce. I’m a big one who is not picky and I don’t look like I’ve turned down many a meal. I could not eat half of this and my friend couldn’t finish hers either. The fries were also unevenly cooked and a bit soggy. Both of us sent back almost full plates and waitress did not even inquire if there was anything wrong with our meal.

Chairs are hard and uncomfortable. Some communal tables.

It’s a good place for gluten free options so I’ll give a big plus for that.

Trying to be trendy, the good is well below par. Atmosphere is noisy and loud, with music cranked, even with just a few people there. Lighting is all over the place, dim with a few very bright lights, making your eye having to adjust all the time. Would not recommend.

The prices are high, especially considering there’s no sales tax being charged. The food was well below expectations, particularly at these prices. The atmosphere is cool, and the service was excellent, but the time it took to get the food was excessively long. On the bright side, the cider was quite good.

What food? We ordered at 7:30 and it's 8:50. It's a burger and some fried chicken. Not complicated. No food. If your kitchen is too small to serve the number of seats, you can't have a kitchen. If you can't serve the tables, you can't seat that many people. Figure it out.

Edit: lmao it wasn't even started! We left.

Chain Yard is one of my favourite places for some food and a drink. I’m not much for alcoholic beverages but I love their ciders!

Been here countless times over the years for food, drinks and even Bingo once or twice!

It is amazing how such a small kitchen can pump out such consistently incredible food, I swear by their chicken sandwich, the apple slaw on it is something I may have to try and recreate at home it is so good.

Unfortunately I never seem to grab any photos of my food before digging in.. maybe it’s a sign of how good the food actually is?

I usually love this place but tonight I was not impressed. The burger was so greasy that we could not finish it. Our drink had dirt floating in it so we sent it back, but they forgot and we had to remind them, and we had to remind them again to bring out a side we ordered. Again, usually love this place, they have great cider, but was really disappointed tonight.

My wife and I popped in while we were in town on a cruise (we tried to find something a bit off the tourist trail). She had a flight of excellent ciders and I had a local wheet beer. It was a light lunch, so we split a Chicken sandwich that turned out to be the perfect pairing of sweet apple and heat. Great find!!
