Wonderful breakfast spot in the heart of downtown Halifax! It was within walking distance of our rental so we didn't have to find a parking spot. It was busy but the staff were very friendly and efficient! The food was delicious and plentiful! Great vibe! Definitely worth a visit!

The food was tasty, we ordered 2 Big Cheeky’s for breakfast. Also we were able to get a seat quickly.
But poor service and fruit flies will stop us from going back.
The last couple of visits we’ve encountered fruit flies while dining. I understand that’s difficult to prevent this time of year.
The biggest problem was the waiter automatically selecting a 20% tip on the POS machine before handing it over to pay. It made payment confusing… is a 20% tip required, did we have a choice? We just decided to pay and not make a fuss about it.
Overall, we left with really bad vibes and won’t be visiting any time soon.
We always tip, and are happy to tip good service, but in this case I would not have added that amount.

Cheeky is my favourite brunch place in Halifax! I've tried multiple things on their menu but ALWAYS go back to the smoked salmon and potato waffle. Highly recommend!!!

I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed with this diner. We’ve been wanting to visit for over three years, but it’s always packed with a long line outside. This time, we finally made it in.
We both ordered the cheeky breakfast, and while the portions were decent, the taste was just okay. The bread and home fries were the best part of the meal.
Perhaps because of the limited seating and the constant line of people waiting, the servers seemed rushed and hurried us through any interactions. There was no chance to relax or enjoy the meal at a comfortable pace.
While this was my first visit, the whole experience felt quite stressful. The food came out quickly, but you’ll likely have to wait 30 minutes or more to get seated.

We had to wait quite a while for a table, like at the doctor's office. Then they wouldn't put tables together so 7 of us could dine together. So we were split up into 2 groups at opposite ends of the restaurant. Weird. Food was very good, and we were flexible. But it was weird.

Even after being seated, I couldn’t shake the uncomfortable feeling, especially because our two-person table was so small that we kept bumping into the décor. Our table was right next to the waiting line, and I found myself constantly making awkward eye contact with people in line while trying to eat. To make matters worse, someone in the line was coughing non-stop, clearly sick, and they were standing so close to us while we were eating—it really made the experience unpleasant.
