I made a reservation for 8 and to my surprise they placed us in a private room with sliding doors from the rest of the restaurant! Was so good, we could talk with each other and not be bothered with outside noise. The head chef stopped by and introduced himself... can't remember his name (it was happy hour and I may have had one or two Pinot Grigio s at this point ..hahaha) He brought us a tuna appetizer on the house and welcomed us to the restaurant and hoped we would enjoy our meal! What a nice touch! We felt appreciated as their guests and not just another ‘customer'. Also, happy hour was from 3-6 pm I believe and great deals on drinks and some foods. When we got our meals, one of us didn't get their side chicken with their main and they brought it out shortly after and apologized and said there would be no charge as it was their mistake! It seriously wasn't that long of a time but was so appreciated. What a classy restaurant and wonderful attentive staff. Can't say enough good things here... we definitely will be coming back !!
First time to CHOP for dinner & can't wait to go again. Every dish was incredible and the service was impeccable. Birria spring rolls & chili garlic shrimp for appetizers were both delicious and just right amount for two to share. Our Filet mignon cooked perfectly! So tender. Cocktail called Bittersweet Symphony was a favorite by far. Bar area was quite busy so a bit loud but dining area ambience was perfect. Highly recommend.
Second visit within a week. First visit was acceptable. Good vibe. Second visit was very disappointing. The appetizer was mussels. Several closed and served. Ordered two mains, steak for one main and requested to be med well. Came med rare. Very red and bloody. Other main did not receive the side with the main. Waitress was very pleasant. Kitchen not up to par. Very disappointed for a quiet Tuesday evening, kitchen could definitely improve.
Service was excellent! Kudos to Jeremy and Alexis. The restaurant and lounge were at capacity, and they were understaffed. There was a concert at the Scotiabank Ctr, that management was unaware of until it was too late to bring staff in. Food was good and it was noisy as usual.
We were pleasantly surprised by our visit to Chop. The food was excellent, and the serve staff went above and beyond what was expected. We will definitely will be back, Chop has become our go to Steak restaurant!
Messed up on a vodka tonic they made it with club soda, probably looked at the ticket and splashed some tonic on top spilled on table on delivery Ordered a 7 oz filet with bernaise and a half lobster They forgot the lobster tail came out 10 min later Claw was not edible wasn't cooked, tail was overcooked and stringy, the bernaise sauce required an imagination to taste any tarragon Consistency of maple syrup, sauce under cooked Upper management was present, but limited capital. Not a clue. They comped the tail and of course the buzz line came out. No worries
Great food, efficient, friendly staff, all excellent. They made a special "fuss" since was our first time there.
Awesome prime rib cooked to perfection Muscle appetizer very good but they were a little small , but great sauce with very nice bread
Food was great and awesome service. Also they had mini desserts, every restaurant should have those.
The food was okay, there are better restaurants in the area. I've eaten at other Chop restaurants in another city and the food is amazing hence, choosing here. Service was great but everything else was lacking. Medium rare steak was charred on one side but barely brown on the other; prime rib had uncooked white fat on it and it was barely warm, rice wasn't hot and vegetables were okay but needed salt. To top it all off after asking for the bill a mouse ran out from under the booth beside us, climbed it and ran into the planter at the top. Yikes! Waitress was notified and was suitably horrified but said she would notify manager as there was none present at the time.

Notably excellent service. Great menu with interesting choices. Great drink selection but the wine list is abbreviated.
Wonderful server but prime rib was a little too done closer to medium well than medium rare requested.
I can't believe that this restaurant had 4 stars +. Food was less than average. I had AHI TUNA TATAKI which I suspect was hard and chewy. Couldn't finish it and it was removed from bill. For mains I asked if salmon was wild. Waitress had no clue and had to go back to kitchen to ask. I would assume that all wait staff would be familiar with dishes and ingredients. Went with halibut and portion was very small. They filled the plate with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Potatoes were good but couldn't even cut carrots as they were too hard. My companion had lobster, which he said lacked taste. Would I return, definitely not
Absolutely a wonderful experience. From the chefs welcome to our server and host. The food was A-1 and we felt taken care of. Can't wait for a return visit!
We were greeted by name when we arrived last evening. Our whole experience from start to finish could not have been better. we left feeling like we were welcomed and appreciated. Made for a good evening
