I would rate it a 4.5, but since I can only go full stars then I'll round up to 5.The service was impeccable. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The butter with the bread is some of the most flavorful we have had. Try the bread and butter! We had the scallops and shrimp starters. The scallops were delicious and cooked perfectly. The shrimp were also cooked perfectly, but the chorizo with them stole the show from the shrimp.Next came the pei boneless ribeyes. We both asked for medium and both steaks were a tad more done than we are used to for meduim. However, the steaks themselves had an amazing char on the outside and a wonderful beefy flavor inside. So we didn't mind the very slight overcook. The mashed potatoes were velvety. The mac and cheese was good, but I doubt I would opt for them again.I would happily dine here again, but because of the price only on special occasions.

Food is overpriced and nothing to write home about. We could eat better, cheaper, and quicker at home. Cocktails were nice though. The waitress was friendly and helpful. We were seeing a play the evening we visited and she helped us get there on time. Apparently the average visit there is two hours while we had just over one hour.

Orignally, i planned to have Feb Dine around menu (which was about $120). However, when we saw there was a choice of Tomahawk steak in the full dine menu, we choose Tomahawk?Tomahawk steak was excellent as it was perfectly cooked (medium). Also we added 3 panned scallops with the steak. If you love scallops, i would suggest you to add it on the main dish as they are really big ( Size: 10pics for a pound). We order A5 wagyu as a starter. The texture was good and it was worth to give a try.Foie gras also not bad, however, i guess it was slightly over-cooked.Lobster bisque is okay but I dont think it worth for the price.Lastly we order 3 different red wine(by glasses) and a cooktail. Overall we both enjoy the drink Lastly the total bill was over 400bucks. However i still think it is worth to try!PS: if anyone try the dine around menu, let me know is that good or not XD

Good evening everyone, my sister and I had dinner this evening at the cuts steak house , up stairs . Our server was Micheal . My sister and I ordered the wagu steak as the shrimp cocktail as the appetizers . When we received our wagu, the steak was tough and full of cartlige. For those who have had wagu, know that wagu melts in your mouth like butter, this was not the case with cuts steak house . The worse piece of steak I have ever had . My sister and I are visible minoritys, and I am sure that the servers and chief thought that we would not know the difference being of colour . My sister did not finish her fake wagu steak . I was hungry and finished the cheap steak. At the end of our meal we received the bill tgat came to $ 912 , 00 !! For the cheapest piece meat that they try to pass as wagu . Please, if you are visiting from abroad or from other parts of Canada if you are of ethnic decent. Be very careful to where you spend your hard earned money . Do not spend your money at this fake establishment . They think that people if colour are ignorant and do not know the difference between wagu send a cheap pi of meat . My susand I received a bill of more than $912 , 00. Waste of time and money .be careful to where you spend your money in the down town halifax , Nova Scotia.

My wife and I had diner at CUT Steakhouse for our 10th wedding anniversary. The service is incredible, staff attend to your every need and they are really friendly. The food was fantastic as we both had the serloin steak and they were one of the best steaks we ever had. The sides and the dessert were also delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. Obviously very expensive but worth the money.Parking: Paid parking lot across the street

Our server was very polite and helpful . We had drinks which were served sharp . Our food eventually came at 8.05 pm which was very good high qualty steak and mushrooms baked potato. Enjoyed the flavour and taste . We had a very pleasant evening . I would return on an earlier booking time for a special occasion thankyou MB

Plenty of food and decently prices for the amount. Left with a full stomach. The service was a bit slow but it was a full restaurant that evening. Mashed potatoes almost looked like glue, not sure if they were over whipped. The steak was well cooked and mushrooms were good. The Brussels sprouts were a bit too saucy.

Steak was worth the price and was fantastic. The service and value for the other food was subpar. - Late in being seated - Two servers had conflicting info. First server forgot what we ordered and had to ask again. Second server was very pushy that we ate the mac & cheese despite mac & cheese, asparagus, scallops and steak all brought to us at the same time. Further comments that it would have been better if we ate it first (why would I eat a steakhouse's mac & cheese before the steak and vegetables?). - Mac & cheese was bland - Bread was hard - Asparagus was ok Overall: when comparing to fine dining like Bar Kizmet, The Cut is more expensive with less quality. Would not recommend.

Cut is one of my favourite restaurants in Halifax. That being said I wasn't as happy with my Valentines Day experience, immediately upon being seated we were told that the caesar salad would not be served table side and that the only steaks available were boneless steaks. Because the tables were all set for seatings of two the restaurant was very congested and loud it was very difficult to be heard. The flow and vibe of the whole meal was not what I usually experience at CUT the timing and service was not the same. I will be returning just not for Valentines or New Years.

As first time guests, they made the experience so welcoming. It could understandably be very overwhelming for newcomers, but they made everything flawless and simplified for us. All of the staff were very pleasant and professional with 10 out of 10 recommend to anybody.

We thought for a high end restaurant we would be getting a fabulous meal. Ceasar salad was very good, dinner rolls and veggies served before meal were great as well. Potatoes boring and cold, steak was nothing special . Dessert very bland.

Perfectly cooked steak, delicious sides including my favourite, roasted brussel sprouts and parsnips, best Caesar salad in town and fabulous chocolate dessert board. Staff were attentive and friendly.

5:30 on a Friday and we were the first people there. We had 4 different people helping to serve our table and all were excellent. Perfectly cooked steaks and the Brussel sprouts were unbelievable! Highly recommend. Bring your wallet.
