I’ve been a regular customer at Dhaba for several years and I love Dhaba’s butter chicken. A couple of years ago, I noticed they started reducing the amount of chicken in their butter chicken, but it was still acceptable. Today, I ordered a kid-sized butter chicken for my daughter and was shocked to find only three pieces of chicken. Extremely disappointed

Longshot

My first visit to the main restaurant in a fair old while, having been frequenting their offshoot in Bedford recently when the curry craving hits. It's larger than it was first time I visited, but still in the little strip mall off Chain Lake Drive. There are two rooms either side of the entrance, both cool, subtly lit and cozy. It was just after they opened on a summer's Thursday morning, so I was the first customer and quickly ordered the meat thali. This comes in six segments. Two meat curries which change from time to time (today it was beef and chicken). A very nice dhal, a good portion of rice, chickpea salad and a quartered plain naan. All very tasty and overall quite a sizeable portion. I was on the ravenous side of peckish when I arrived and left thoroughly stuffed, so you definitely get your value for the $23 with tip. It's not licensed, but has a nice line in cold drinks should you so desire. It's no surprise this place is consistently voted No.1 curry house in Halifax, though it has a lot more competition than it did when it first opened. Thoroughly recommended.

As a regular customer, I’m really disappointed with my recent visit to Dabba. The overall service was the worst I’ve experienced there, especially from the server Navjot. Her attitude was completely off — unwelcoming, uninterested, and borderline rude. It felt like she didn’t want to be there, and she certainly didn’t make us feel like valued customers.

Although it’s a buffet system, the food is served by staff — and unfortunately, even that was done carelessly. Navjot served us in a way that made a mess on the plate. I was left with a scoop of curry and mostly chicken bones, and to top it off, she told me I couldn’t leave this and had to finish it. That comment was completely out of line and extremely disrespectful.

It’s a shame because I’ve always enjoyed the food here and supported this place regularly. But this level of service is unacceptable. Staff with such a poor attitude should not be kept in customer-facing roles. This experience really left a bad impression and makes me rethink coming back.

All the food here is rich in flavour. The ambience is perfect for both casual dining and special night out.

Dhaba used to be great.

Over the years they have reduced the amount of chicken in their butter chicken to a minuscule amount.

Despite that, we thought we would try them again. I called in an order, waited 35 minutes and when I got to the restaurant they just hadn’t made our food. The hostess remembered my name, but just didn’t put in the order. She didn’t offer to make the food or apologize. Her only solution was that we could call in again to place a take out order.

We won’t be going back to what was once a great spot.

I have tried a lot of things at this place
But only aloo tikki chat and samosa chat is good
The vegetables and curries don’t taste good at all
Especially the roti is just simple walmart roti heated up
mango lassi was good
I liked the garlic naan and paneer butter masala
Carrot halwa was good this time

The worst food I have ever ordered ! The Nan and parotta were soaked in burnt oil. Dal makhni was completely stale, I could smell it even from across the room. Aloo gobhi and halwa all tasted sour and stale and it was completely inedible. You should be ashamed to serve such horrible food to people and putting their health at risk.
