I’ve been a long time customer of Dhaba and it’s sadly has declined significantly. The service and the food have taken a hit in quality, and the portion sizes are getting rather small. Sadly I won’t be returning since there are other great options around.

I Door dashed my order from the restaurant last night, and as I was unpacking through my order the first thing that struck out to me was the 3cm layer of oil floating on top of the curry(as if the curry was added to bowl of oil), the level of saturated oils that curry had me concerned, overall the Rasmalai tasted synthetic, also the Panner kebab was quite tasteless because the content used to make it was not at all spiced up.

Went for dinner and ordered chicken 65 and lamb curry.I have tried all the so called Indian restaurants but this place serves the world's best food They cook food and serve food with love you can tell that just after having first bite! Chicken 65 is the most famous and perfect dish for all nationalities The best thing is they costumiz according to your taste and is always perfect. The staff is extremely polite specifically Judi . Whenever we visit there she remembers all the customers and provides exceptional customer service, makes us feel special!

To be very honest I thought this restaurant won best restaurant of Halifax for years in a row for a reason. It was until I witnessed it myself. The overpriced food no doubt was just decent…but it was the banal and nonchalant attitude of our server, the moment we entered at 8.50pm we were informed the kitchen was closing at 9.30. Which was fine we quickly placed our main course order. I had requested for masala papadums as an appetiser , we were refused and informed kitchen is closing. Post dinner I requested for the dessert menu and was refused as kitchen was closed. The time was 9.25pm.Mind you we were the only customers at the restaurant. Definitely not what I expected in a hospitality/ customer service business. It makes sense now…the overpriced food not the issue it’s the staff and sheer lack of care and customer service. Definitely shall not visit this place again.

I’ve been a regular customer at Dhaba for several years and I love Dhaba’s butter chicken. A couple of years ago, I noticed they started reducing the amount of chicken in their butter chicken, but it was still acceptable. Today, I ordered a kid-sized butter chicken for my daughter and was shocked to find only three pieces of chicken. Extremely disappointed

Longshot

My first visit to the main restaurant in a fair old while, having been frequenting their offshoot in Bedford recently when the curry craving hits. It's larger than it was first time I visited, but still in the little strip mall off Chain Lake Drive. There are two rooms either side of the entrance, both cool, subtly lit and cozy. It was just after they opened on a summer's Thursday morning, so I was the first customer and quickly ordered the meat thali. This comes in six segments. Two meat curries which change from time to time (today it was beef and chicken). A very nice dhal, a good portion of rice, chickpea salad and a quartered plain naan. All very tasty and overall quite a sizeable portion. I was on the ravenous side of peckish when I arrived and left thoroughly stuffed, so you definitely get your value for the $23 with tip. It's not licensed, but has a nice line in cold drinks should you so desire. It's no surprise this place is consistently voted No.1 curry house in Halifax, though it has a lot more competition than it did when it first opened. Thoroughly recommended.

As a regular customer, I’m really disappointed with my recent visit to Dabba. The overall service was the worst I’ve experienced there, especially from the server Navjot. Her attitude was completely off — unwelcoming, uninterested, and borderline rude. It felt like she didn’t want to be there, and she certainly didn’t make us feel like valued customers.

Although it’s a buffet system, the food is served by staff — and unfortunately, even that was done carelessly. Navjot served us in a way that made a mess on the plate. I was left with a scoop of curry and mostly chicken bones, and to top it off, she told me I couldn’t leave this and had to finish it. That comment was completely out of line and extremely disrespectful.

It’s a shame because I’ve always enjoyed the food here and supported this place regularly. But this level of service is unacceptable. Staff with such a poor attitude should not be kept in customer-facing roles. This experience really left a bad impression and makes me rethink coming back.
