Terrible experience at Dockside Dining Hall. Visited the campus today and around 3PM wanted to enter dining hall to sit with a friend as she was hungry, but I wasn’t eating until 4:30pm when the menu switched over to dinner. They wanted me to pay to enter while she ate and then pay again when the menu switched over. I was expected to pay twice (which is $40) or sit in the dining hall for an hour and a half until the menu switched over. With no satisfaction from the counter I spoke to the supervisor. She did nothing to make this right. How is there not a receipt or something that I could’ve shown when the menu switched over to provide evidence that I paid? Terrible that a guest has to be treated this way to sit in and eat mediocre food that isn’t worth paying for anyway! Will be my last visit to the dining hall.
Limited choice of food, I once had the oatmeal and got diarrhoea the afternoon immediately. I'm also not in favour of the strict policy of not allowing residence to take out food to eat in their rooms, the dining hall is always noisy and stuffy. The staff members at the reception/front desk are friendly tho, always happy to greet them. (well, two of them make me feel unwelcome, but most people are kind)

“hot” food is always cold. Tasteless, often not cooked well, ie I had a rice stir fry and the veggies were way overcooked and the rice was undercooked to the point that some grains were hard. Everything that I have eaten there other than the pizza has made me stomach sick.
Horrible selection if you have any dietary needs! Sometimes the only gluten free option is the salad bar, and the only time there are options is at breakfast.
Vegetarian options: Not much, and most tastes like cardboard
Dietary restrictions: Nothing for people who can't eat wheat. Legitimately they will serve plain rice and three heads of broccoli and call it a stir fry.
It has very limited variety of food for vegetarians and Vegans. Sometimes stale food is served. Most of the staff is very helpful that is the only great point. The company running it is only interested in profiteering and not concerned with students health and wellbeing. It also tries and use all methods to extort money out of students.
Food it's really good.staff it's super kind and they made us some quesadillas WE LOVE THEM SO MUCH.
Decent spot to eat. Some of the cooks are friendly and do their job great. Others dont have as great an idea of what they're doing. Just today I waited at the grill for breakfast and was told they would be serving food in half an hour, but after I sat down two minutes later there was a line formed and people were being served.Employees shouldn't be sending customers away just because they dont want to serve them, it's their job!
Its trash. Breakfast not bad. Feels like eating plastic food.
Meal hall food is good

Great dining hall in the Saint Mary's University campus, Halifax. It's located in the Loyola building and hence, easy to access even in the winter. It is very neat and clean, and has got a wide variety of food options with an all-you-can-eat option. The staff are good too. Those who do not have meal coupon can get in by paying $11 upfront and that's really a good deal.
A dining service mainly for students. The food is occasionally great otherwise it's better to cook yourself or eat somewhere else.
Horrible place to eat at for 4 years straight
Surely, for any international, will feel home here.
