The most incredible breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had! Been a big fan of Easy Street for a long time, but that breakfast sandwich!!! OMG! As always friendly, amazing staff.
Amazing celiac safe food, and they cater to dairy free as well. I’ve always had safe meals 😊
We LOVED this restaurant! The food was EXCELLENT! I was very excited to have gluten free fish and chips and it was nothing short of fantastic! The best fish and chips I have ever had, hands down! The vegan garlic sauce was also amazing! We also had a burger, and the waffles with fried chicken, all great! Go here! Eat here! Enjoy the awesomeness! An allergy friendly restaurant doing it right!

The food is top notch. It's the comfort of homemade elevated by extra flavor. Every bite of the meatloaf I took, I raved tasty about how tasty it was. And my friend had the Rueben, which was equally a burst of flavor and delight.

Delicious! I’ve been here multiple times for their celiac safe menu and every time everything tastes incredible. Large dining room with lots of seating, bright and open space.

We’re visiting from Montreal and dined at Easy Street Diner two days in a row, everything was that good! As someone with gluten sensitivity and dairy allergies, I was so impressed with how clean, fresh, and allergy-friendly the meals were. The food was delicious and clearly made with care, and the hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming. We might even return for our last day in Halifax! If I could make one friendly suggestion, it would be to include coffee with the menu, t would make an already great experience even better. Highly recommend!

Truly the most underrated spot in Halifax. Service is fantastic, food is amazing and gluten free accommodation can be made for anything on the menu as one of the owners has celiac disease. Queer owned and operated. 🏳️🌈

I honestly hate leaving negative reviews, I know everyone is working hard, and I love supporting small local businesses. I just moved into the area, and the reviews I read were mostly positive, so I thought it would be a good go to spot. Unfortunately, I just don’t think the 4.8 rating is accurate for this place, as I didn’t have a good experience at all.
The place was busy, really a good sign, but very loud. They warned us that things were “chaotic” but the service was very inattentive overall, with us having to ask several times for coffee refills etc. I wanted to order the Benny with avocado, listed online for $19, but found that it wasn’t on the menu, and ordered the one with tomato and mushrooms, for $3 more. I found the food to be bland overall. My hollandaise sauce was very vinegary and the home fries were unseasoned, dry and not crispy. When we gave our dissatisfied feedback at the end, it wasn’t met with a lot of interest. We were told it would be passed on to the owner, and after a brief disappearance the server came back and didn’t say anything, just handed us our bills. Absolutely not in anyway worth the $30 I paid.
Edit: I wanted to add an addition to my review, based on the thoughtful and genuine response from the owner.
While our overall experience was negative, it seems like there was definitely some miscommunication occurring as well.
I understand that it’s difficult and expensive to modify a space for acoustics, but I just wanted to be honest as some people are sensitive to loud environments.
Also, being short staffed definitely contributed to the service, and I recognize that is not anyone’s fault. However, did affect the service.
We didn’t bring up the issues with the owner because we didn’t know she was the owner, and also because we don’t like to complain, and came to some of these conclusions after processing on the way home. Also, I don’t think we should have to ask for a refund, or discount, I felt like if there was a genuine effort to improve the experience, it would have been a conversation. Honestly, we probably wouldn’t have taken a refund anyway because, yes we did eat our meals, in an effort not to be wasteful. However, I didn’t finish my potatoes and my guest didn’t finish his a lot of his meat, because it was burnt in one case and under cooked in another. He did tell the server this when we were about to pay.
Our server left with our bills without saying much, and then returned a few minutes later, with the same bills and didn’t say anything. So there was no communication with us about what had been discussed.
I simply wanted to share my honest experience. As a former small business owner, I always appreciated honest feedback, especially negative, so I could work to be better. This was my goal here.

Unfortunately forgot to take photos but let me just say this was one of the most amazing restaurants I’ve been to in the city.
Took my grandma who’s celiac as I had heard the GF Belgian waffle was really good. We were shocked to find out that every single menu item could be made GF and some (such as the Fish and Chips, which looked insanely fresh and crispy) come standard GF.
She had the crispy chicken burger which was both tasty and fresh and looked nothing like traditional GF food. I had the Reuben on their pillowy soft marble rye and it was to die for! We also both got their GF Blueberry pie and a GF cheesecake that were honestly some the most amazing desserts in the city!
The staff are very friendly and we’re excited to share the GF inclusivity that the restaurant boasts. This place is a Celiac (and gluten lovers) haven and should definitely be your choice for your next breakfast or lunch dates!
