Tonight I attended an event at Elliot and Vine. I had been looking forward to this event for two months. The food was good, however the experience overall was disappointing. Although the food met expectations the service did not. Our orders were mixed up and when served the wrong dish instead of replacing it I was told if I wanted a different dish I could ask the GEUST speaker to switch.
Extremely unprofessional and overall disappointing. I was tremendously disappointed in this restaurants service and would not recommend based on this experience .

This was our first visit to Eliot&Vine. Phil Harris greeted us and provided a friendly atmosphere and a wonderful dining experience. All staff along with the manager and chef were superb.

After reading reviews we decided to try Eliot and Vine on our last night in Halifax. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is charming and pleasant ambiance. The hospitality and service excellent. We ordered the cacio de Pepe and short ribs, both were delicious. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake we enjoyed and completed our most enjoyable evening of dining

Had a great meal, as usual. Jen served us last night and Julie assisted, last time it was the opposite. Love going to this restaurant, service, food atmosphere is always great. Try the Short Rib, it is delicious. Look forward to our next visit.

All of the food we ordered was beyond phenomenal. We had the Scallops and Cheesy Grits, The braised Short rib and Risotto, the brussel sprouts and the Cacio e Pepe. Every bite was packed with flavor and was cooked to absolute perfection. Our server brought a good level of levity and humor to the service. While the prices were a tad high, I would highly recommend that everyone try Eliot and Vine if they get the chance

Elliot & Vine always takes care of its clients, not rushing us, quietly observing our needs like a water top up or still drinking wine so not ready for the bill. It wasn't noisy, always pleasant.

The location is a bit out of the way, but totally worth it. We had dinner for 4 on a Saturday night when the restuarant was booked for a private event (wedding?) The restaurant was still able to accomodate guest outside on the patio. We ordered Tuna Tartar, Shimp Toast and Mussels, all of which were very good. We ordered the Short Ribs, Halibut and Veal Shnitzel as mains ... the standout being the Shnitzel, with the Short Ribs being close behind. Finished with a few Crème Brûlées. We also enjoyed the in-house made Italian sodas. The cost of our dinner was high (this is not an everyday restaurant, and should be saved for special occassions), but the food did not disappoint. Lovely evening, thank you!
I hadn't heard of this restaurant before. I found it on Google and chose it because I could walk from my hotel. When I got there I was pleasantly surprised to find a chic restaurant with a great atmosphere. The menu was amazing and the server was very helpful recommending wine and different menu options. The schnitzel with the cheese sauce was unbelievable. I would definitely go back to this restaurant next time I'm in Halifax.

Whether it is a place to enjoy casual cocktails and appetizers after work at happy hour or a special occasion Eliot&Vine is consistently wonderful. The staff are accommodating, pleasant and so knowledgeable always. I have enjoyed the small and large plate offerings depending upon my appetite. I never miss an opportunity to enjoy the fresh oysters. The wine and cocktail list is thoughtfully selected. Eliot&Vine has a casual feel and welcoming atmosphere that I always appreciate. I highly recommend E&V.

Disappointing Service despite great food!!!
We were in Halifax for a friend’s wedding and decided to dine at this restaurant based on its reputation. The food was undeniably delicious, and the oysters were reasonably priced, which we appreciated.
However, our experience was marred by the poor service we received. Unfortunately, it felt as though the staff were inattentive and dismissive towards us, leaving us with the impression that they were uncomfortable with Black patrons.
While I would recommend this place for its food, I hesitate to do so because of the treatment we experienced. If you're considering dining here, be aware that the service might not be up to the standard you expect—especially if you're a person of color.
