We had a fabulous meal during “dine around” which was worth every penny. Sooo delicious! Highly recommend it.
Great spot for a business lunch! Classy interior, comfortable seating, good food, prices aren't crazy. I had the lunch Caesar and found the portion a little small, but otherwise well presented and tasty. Attentive wait staff.
Original menu - everything tasted amazing. Outstanding service - she went above and beyond and her suggestions were perfect. Decor and lighting was only drawback. We were in a nice cozy corner, but it was super-dark. The overall aesthetic was a bit hodgepodge. Needs a makeover.
We had a lovely evening at The Arms. Our server Ann was lovely, knowledgeable about the menu and super efficient. The atmosphere so cozy on a cold night and food was scrumptious. Thank you!
The ambience is great and the service was excellent. We did have to wear our jackets as we were sitting in the middle of the main area and cold air seemed to find its way thought the main doors I was very happy to see that they have Keith's beer on tap. The food was very good but I found the bun that the lobster roll came in was toasted way too much. The lobster filling was amazing but it would have been even better if the bun was softer and not crunchy like well done toast The beet and fennel salad was delicious Prices were reasonable
The Arms is a place my wife & I like to dine when going downtown. More often than not it isn't too busy. The restaurant is very nice, staff are friendly & prices are reasonable. The last two times we dined here we ordered the Nachos & Wings to split. The Nachos are huge and well covered with toppings. Probably one of best Nachos you can find at any restaurant. The wings are okay, a bit small in size, but when added to Nachos they are plenty. Beer is cold & reasonably priced. Service is very good. Attentive, but not pushy.
Amazing espresso martini but very disappointed with the oysters. 2 of the 12 oysters very barely visible and they were all very small.
Lovely spot, the food was delicious. Haven't been here for years, definitely will be going back
A classic feel and excellent food and service is what The Arms offers. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for authentic and well prepared classic dishes.
Nachos are the best in Halifax! We also had the wings which were crispy and a lovely flavour. 2 bowls of delicious seafood chowder which were generous in size and seafood.

See Private note please aa love ❤️ the Arms and one of reasons is great service always have which did not happen tonight.
The Arms provides a relaxing atmosphere serving up very good food and with exceptional service. We often come here on Friday nights, and always have an excellent time.
Booked a table for dinner here for a birthday celebration. Service was slow, we had to track our server down a couple of times and it was not busy or full. Food was good enough but the whole thing felt forced. Idk if hotel guests or those ordering alcohol have a different experience but it was just ok. Also the host commented on the fact that it was a birthday celebration but that was it. Not a cupcake or anything to mark the occasion.....then why ask and mention it? Ofc we had arranged for our own cake and celebration but it was just another lost opportunity to provide a good experience and encourage repeat business. A disappointment overall.
The food and service were excellent !! They went above and beyond and gave us a complimentary fruit plate too
We dined in on Aug 7 before heading to the comedy fest. Top notch service and outstanding food! The Rockefeller oysters were so good we had to order another order of them to go with our mains.
