A large selection of on tap and canned beers to choose from! We tried the Lucky Punk (sour ipa) and the Mango & Dragonfruit (fruited sour) beers. Both were great! I'm not a big fan of IPAs, but this one was interesting since it was a sour! The mango & dragonfruit was a beautiful dark pink color and the taste was smooth and fruity, very delicious!
Pleasant early evening beer. Decent range of beers. Good to get away from the bland & freezing cold (= no flavour) lager type Busweiser, Coors, San Miguel
Home of the great 5.5% beer for 2.50 a bottle! That came in handy more than a few times...
Convenient to the cruise terminal, Garrison is a great place to enjoy a beer or two on your port call. Open and airy feel with lots of artwork and brewery related items on display.
Our staff was cheerful and welcoming and we spent a few minutes at the end in the gift shop for purchases to enjoy later.
This was the perfect spot to finish our visit to Halifax.
Absolutely brilliant. Great friendly place in such an easy to find location.
Ready good vibe. Excellent beer and I really enjoyed the music playlist, lots of rock and grunge. Will return if I’m in Halifax again!
The atmosphere at this spot is fantastic! They offer a solid beer selection and an impressive array of delicious hot sauces to take home. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
This brewery has mastered the art of making beer so strong, I forgot my middle name halfway through my first pint. The decor is a charming mix of "industrial chic" and "we found this stuff in the alley." Their IPA had so many hops, I felt personally attacked—but in a good way. The staff is friendly, though they look like they might also moonlight as a punk band. Overall, it's the perfect place if you want to question your life choices while sipping liquid gold.
Always a good idea and very pet friendly so my kind of place , it's been 7 years . Still my favorite
The place is amazing, and the service is unbeatable. The beers are delicious, and there’s a great variety.

If you arrive to Halifax by cruise ship, you can't miss Garrison because it's right on the pier where you dock.
I intentionally left Garrison as my last stop on my mini brewery tour of Halifax, so, if needed, I could just crawl back to my ship. Luckily, that wasn't required, but it was a nice way to end my day at their beautiful waterside brewery.
Their beers were all good, nothing amazing or particularly weak- everything was just solid. My 4 star rating is primarily based on their beer quality, ambiance, and overall experience (all good) as I did not eat any of their food.
My favorite beer was the Lil Juicy New England IPA and my least favorite was the Vulcan Ale Genesis Effect Session.
I was able to snag an outside table under an umbrella, with a great view of my ship and all the crew and passengers coming and going.
They offer beer flights that have 5 5oz tastes. The day I was there, they had 13 beers on tap- plenty of different styles and flavors to choose from.
Definitely recommend a stop at Garrison.
Great beer. Great ambiance. Would recommend their beers!
Right on the Boardwalk, has draft beers and cans you can take with you. I tried the Milk Stout and it was one of the best stouts I've tried- and have been to dozens of different craft breweries.
Nice venue! It was nice to come and hang out here after a day of walking around Halifax. We came during October so they had all their fall and Halloween beers. We got a 13 flight beer for 29$. The music was a good soundtrack. It’s pet freindly as well. Good brewery.
Great options and amazing atmosphere, enjoyed the time.
