This place had the best food I’ve ever tasted! Everything was cooked perfectly and all of the flavours paired in a way that rocked our tastes buds.

Husband ordered the wild boar and I did the strip loin.

Very lovely atmosphere. Not too loud.

The service was also remarkable!

Fantastic experience all around. My wife and I brought our 4 kids to dinner here last weekend. Even the kids meals were amazing. Something often overlooked by most restaurants.

Had a delicious meal at Gio for our anniversary. I had the striploin which was good perfectly and my partner had the scallops and shrimp.
For dessert we had the strawberry dessert and it was so creative and delicious.
Our survey was so friendly and attentive.
Will definitely return.

Tonight I had an incredible meal. The scallops were amazing, truly something special. The chowder, oysters, dessert and cocktail closely followed. I'm definitely coming here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for something great.

Gio is at the Prince George Hotel, we stayed there at the end of 13 days in Canadian Maritimes and ate there twice. It is by far the best restaurant of the 13 days. Over the two nights we had salad, scallops appetizer, shrimp and scallop main, Lobster Thermidor, boar, and chicken. All were good to very good. In addition, the prices are surprisingly reasonable (both food and wine) compared to the other restaurants, better quality at same or lower prices.

We Loved our experience at Gio. Food was fresh and served hot. Our server and support staff were so friendly it enhanced our experience tenfold. Halibut fish was 5star. Oysters so fresh

We have been to Gio before and feel the quality has gone down. We ordered the tuna and scallop appetizers which were both good. We have had the wild boar before and we both ordered it. We were not asked how we like it cooked and both dishes came out really really well done, bit of char, tough. We sent them back and then got basically rare chops. The service was very good but really disappointed in our main courses. We won't return to this restaurant.

Seriously - Marrow with Snow Crab - I can't even begin to say how good this dish was. Would never of thought to combine the flavours but oh man that works! We could have eaten everything on the appetizer menu - will need to go back to work my way through. The Scallops were really good and the foie gras burger and the green tomatoes. I think you could just close your eyes and point and you would not be disappointed with whatever you eat. Well done to the chef!

We are always happy to entertain at Gio. The meal is always well crafted and delicious. Great wine selection and fabulous staff-Olivia was our server and she was delightful -well informed and welcoming! We remain grateful Gio has a wonderful creative kitchen, and has maintained a lovely ambiance perfect for sharing a wonderful meal and great conversation with friends, family and business colleagues alike. I am happy to say the only negative is not with the food , wine nor service, but with the seating. The unfortunate choice of fabric for the booth is uncomfortable as it makes the process of “sliding”into ones seat extremely difficult and awkward, particularly when wearing a dress, as it sticks to the fabric. Unfortunately choice -not without remedy. We look forward to our next evening with you. Many thanks.

Gio is a must visit place in Halifax for foodies! For my app, I got their bone marrow & snow crb and it did not disappoint. It's a must try for picky foodies. While I typically do not order a burger for a dinner meal, I had to have their foie gras burger when I read its description and it did not disappoint! The icing on top was my server Terri: she has an innate gift to be a server and I would not have wanted anyone else serving me for this meal experience.

I would be remiss if I did not mention that their red wine and manhattan cocktail were both superb. Oh and their dessert, "It's always best to eat in layers," is one of the best ones I have had!

Recently visited here for my birthday, spoke to some folks before hand about accommodating our dietary restrictions (vegan and gluten free). They were lovely and thoughtful, the chef seemed more than happy to create some ideas off menu to ensure our needs were met. The food was delicious and service was attentive. Would definitely visit again.

It is so hard to find upscale vegan dining in Nova Scotia, and that much harder for gluten free so this was really special. Would definitely recommend. ♥️
