The puree base is weirdly bitter and under seasoned. My companion said the confit duck w cassoulet beans was okay. Olive and whipped feta appetizer we shared was very good but came with only two small pieces of grilled sourdough. Our server kindly brought us two additional slices.

Dang - I need more adjectives to compliment chef for the creations. My cod was so tasty and (of course) perfectly prepared, it followed a remarkable seafood chowder and the sourdough bread. The Left Bank cocktail to open was a wonderful start, the finish was the Orange You Glad To See Me (or close words) wound up an awesome night with super server Rachael. So I added a glass of Remy Martin XO to round out with my coffee. Great setting and a fun Friday night!

MY HUSBAND ordered the oysters and i ordered the squid appetizer. BOTH were amazing. It was probably the best squid I've ever eaten. Perhaps second to octopus I've eaten in Morrocco. My husband had the lobster spaghetti and I had the scallops. Again, both were amazing. The scallops with the curried cauliflower and risotto was a perfect meal. MY husband's pasta dish had a good quantity of lobster. I cannot recall the name of our waitress, but we do understand she has been at GIO for 11 years. She enhanced our experience from Great to Excellent. We hope to go back to Gio before our flight home.

We dined with friends and loved the quiet and classy atmosphere, complemented by our attentive waiter Oscar. He was one of the best waiters we've ever had. The cocktails were exceptional and used fresh ingredients. The main entrees were creative and delicious but with a couple disappointments. The scallops were a bit overcooked and the foie gras burger was over salted with inferior quality beef for the price. That said, we will go back for sure!
