Julep Kitchen & Cocktails

Will definitely be back here. Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were good. Food was delicious, they brought out an amuse bouche before our dinner which was nice. We tried the fried chicken special, the duck confit and 'dirty rice' the mint Julep and a personalized cocktail. Would only recommend the mint Julep to those who reaaallllyyyyy like bourbon lol.

This was the first time we had visited this place, safe to say we loved it! The layout and ambiance was amazing, great for a date night of any kind! The cocktails are amazing and well made, the shareable options were great for a large group and the mains had enough options for everyone! The service was really tentative and asked about any allergies or dietary restrictions! Overall, the experience was amazing and would recommend!

Their website ad describes their dining as "debaucherous". Glad I didn't see that before going in. Their food is very, very good. Both the 90's fettucine and Four cheese gnocchi were as good as I've had at any other restaurant. Full of flavor and I didn't feel debauched after dinner. They might consider firming up the gnocchi which were a bit on the loose side, but very good just the same. As an added bonus, this was the only restaurant I visited in a weeklong trip to NS that knew how to make ice tea without my direction. Bravo!

I have been to Julep numerous times since it opened, and I have never been disappointed in the food or the service. Their cocktail menu is superb, and the food menu always has something unique and delicious. They consistently add new items for a change of pace, which means there’s a reason to go again no matter what! The only thing that I was sad to hear on my most recent visit is that they removed their Southern Sweets Board, which I recommended to everyone I knew, and went there just for that at times (it was a charcuterie style dessert board). Hoping they bring that back, but other than that, everything is top notch.

Delicious cocktails, super friendly service, yummmmmy food.Got the fried chicken sandwich and garlic shrimp po’boy, both fantastic. Yummy fries too. Worth the hype I’ve seen on TikTok for sure!

First off, wait staff's fits are fire, this place is super aesthetic and I love it. Got the charcuterie board and proceeded to dip everything on it in the provided honey, which was also fire.The burger with cheese fondue on it was absolutely tantalizing.

First day in Halifax. So where to eat? Julep was close to our hotel, looked interesting and we were not disappointed. Friendly staff, great ambience and background music with a terrific wine list with enough local choices to entertain overseas travellers and the food was delicious. Great place to catch up with friends or for a dinner for 2

Awesome oysters and great selection of martinis

The experience was nice. The plating was very beautiful. We ordered the gnocchi and jambalaya. The gnocchi was a little too soft. But everything else was delicious. I loved the personalized cocktail option.

Our first time experiencing Julep was last night and to say we are pleased is an understatement. Sarah P was our server and she was an absolute delight. She was welcoming and fun!! Our meal was beyond incredible…the wine was equally amazing. Thank you Sarah and Julep staff!!! We will return soon. ?

We made reservations months ago. Dinner on a Sunday night, patio was hoping so we took a table inside. The host was charming and prompt. I stopped at the bar to see their great selection of Bourbon and single malts. Julie looked after us and she did a great job making us feel special, offering informed recommendations on all the menus. My partner had one of their specialty cocktails, very well received and I had my favourite. We had apps and mains and oysters. They were very accommodating to offer hot and raw options. To be honest, the food was fabulous. Chef Adams did an amazing job on every dish. We'll be back at least once more before our vacation ends, great spot in the middle of the noise.

We came in for cocktails and had the lobster hushpuppies as an appetizer. Don’t skip those! The cocktails were boozy and high-quality, and made well. Would love to come back for a full meal next time!

Came back to Julep after having a disappointing experience for brunch about a week ago. I'm glad we did as the food and service this time around were very good.My partner and I started off with the cauliflower tacos, which were *excellent*; the cauliflower was still firm but not too hard, and the combination of tahini dressing and slaw added a welcome sweetness and acidity to the dish. We also had oysters, which came with a spray bottle of bourbon - very cool and went well with the other condiments.My partner then had the four cheese gnocchi, which was pretty good, but not amazing; while the gnocchi was cooked very well (and the breadcrumbs added a nice crunch to the texture), there was a little too much sauce, which can be overwhelming given its creaminess. I had the pork belly, which was also quite good. Again, there was slightly too much sauce - I think it would have been even better if the sauce was served to the side so that the greens and pork belly could stand on there own a little more.Finally, we finished off strong with the lemon and blueberry cheesecake. Great texture and we appreciated the lightness of the lemon as it can often be overdone. Staff were fantastic and attentive, and the view from the patio is beautiful. Will be coming back again to try more of the appetizers as they all seemed delicious - especially the tuna tartare cannolis.Thank you for a nice evening!

We may bed on from a “fancy” restaurant, and we’re so glad we did. The cocktails, food, dessert and service were perfect. Definitely order the Chocolate Indulgence. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Kudos to the team!
