Probably the only Japanese restaurant in town with omu rice on their menu. Their spicy salmon poke with purple rice is my go-to! The servers also give great recommendations and are super friendly! Will always return for more 🫶🏻

I’m so happy that Kanpai Izakaya is now in Halifax! I used to dine at their Moncton location multiple times because their food was always consistently delicious — and I’m glad to say nothing has changed. The flavours, quality, and presentation are still top-notch.

It feels like a familiar favourite found a new home, and I couldn’t be more excited. Me and my boyfriend will definitely be dining with them again the next time we visit Halifax.

First time at Kanpai Izakaya and was not disappointed! Great food and service in a really cool dining area that makes me feel relaxed! The poke bowl, unagi don, karage and sushi were all excellent! Highly recommended!
