The guy who hosts karaoke is garbage and ruined my karaoke experience. He kept insisting I hold the mic in my left hand which was completely unnecessary as there were no technical issues. I thought it was weird that he only did that to me when everyone else were allowed to hold it however way they preferred. I am not sure why I was singled out and why he kept interrupting me. He should not be allowed to interfere during Karaoke (unless there are good reasons) as it can be distracting and very unenjoyable. I have been to multiple other Karaoke bars and never seen the karaoke host up on the stage when people are singing. Why is he up there? and why does it matter if I use my left hand or right hand?

Sat down in a booth for 10 minutes. The waitress and waiter behind bar stared at then ignored us. Did not bring a menu or ask if we wanted anything.
Last time we were advised it was too early for food by the older gentleman who was manning the bar. He still came over let us know the kitchen hours. He ensured we felt welcomed and he was very friendly.
Used to be a favorite spot when in the city. Not anymore. We will not be back again.

I wish I didn't have to give negative reviews, BUT they're very lgbtq + unfriendly. my friend who identifies as non-binary use the female bathroom and got called a man by the pink hair manager and we got kicked out. we tried to explain that they were non-binary and the manager said that we were disgusting and she was calling security. security was nice about the situation and said we were invited to come back tomorrow, HOWEVER we were. only in town for the night. they seemed afraid of this pink-haired lady. super disappointed in Nova Scotia, shame on you.

I have attempted oasis on two separate occasions. Both nights google said they were open until 2 am. Every time I go in, the bar staff says they are closed at different times. First it was one 1 am and then they said 1:30 am.
They do not do last call. When I asked the bar tender he said that āhe just tells people itās last call when they come upā.
Donāt waste your time with this stink hole. They close whenever they feel like it because they are dead. Just go to the bitter end or the loose cannon. They actually stay open as late as they advertise and the overall atmosphere is much better.
Do NOT waste your time at oasis.

For a space in downtown Halifax, I feel that there's very little effort put into cleanliness, service, and atmosphere. Could be a cool spot but instead it really just feels like a waste.

There are much better bars around, where service is actually good and you'll be safe. The Local is an alternative that's safe, clean, and doesn't hate gays or taunt honest reviewers.

Don't feel safe in this space. Came here at the recommendation of a friend to just check it out a few weeks ago and the service wasn't great the bartenders were rude the atmosphere wasn't inviting at all and we both felt unsafe we didn't finish our drinks or wait for our food we paid and got out as fast as we could. I would not recommend this space because it's not safe for my female friends or LGBTQ+

How is this place still open?! The food is awfulllll, the service is slowwww, they place is disgusting, it reminds me of a local bar in the valley or the middle of nowhere that never gets upgraded and runs the same every year and just has the same alcoholics keeping it open, surely the safety regulations are not met at this place, the washrooms alone feel like they havenāt been cleaned since 2001 lol

My husband and I thoroughly enjoy Oasis, cheap drinks and food, a great place for students to enjoy however, just be safe walking in the area as people are sketchy but not only the people in the area, the staff too. Everytime my husband and I go, the same security guard gives him a hard time, last night he let him go through and said under his breath "fake." Why on earth would a 28 year old and 24 have a fake ID to go to OASIS. The bartender gave him a dirty look for ordering a pitcher. Were allowed to order whatever we'd like to with out feeling constantly judged by every staff member we encounter. I get that it's not the best job to have but you chose that job treat people with respect.
