While staying in Halifax to visit my very ill granddaughter in hospital, my sister & I went to Pete's to pick up food for the family.The lady working the sandwich counter informed us that we were too late for breakfast. It was 11:56...so we settled on a salad and looked at the menu to decide on a few sandwiches. Once the lady wrapped our salad up she dissappeared into the back. A few minutes later, a heavyset man came out and said that he understood we wanted to order sandwiches but they only had 2.So we paid $15 for the salad and left.Incredibly cold customer service. You two should be ashamed of yourselves. Awful!!!

This place is somewhere I always go to for my groceries runs since it’s near where I live and they do have quality stuff there. However the most recent visit was a huge disappointment and a terrible experience due to the disrespect I got from the cashier worked there! The male cashier with glasses and orange-color tone hair was so rude to me when I was trying to pay for my groceries! He just stared at me angrily and kept knocking the checkout conveyor belt impatiently with something in his hand without saying a word, while I was waiting for the customers in front of me to finish packing their bags. Then he kept staring at me and my friend while we were paying for our items, not answering or giving any response to us, making us feel uncomfortable, it was extremely rude and disrespectful!! I understand it could be he’s having a bad day, but being disrespectful and rude to your customers is definitely unprofessional and unacceptable, train your staff properly, Pete’s!

We strongly support the workers here and not union-busting that could happen even after the strike.Otherwise this has always been a great spot for produce and British food - and some hard to find ingredients. It's at a prime location in Halifax, great staff and selection of cakes and pastries. Extremely needed downtown!

I love Pete's but it's about the workers there ,they are so kind ,and so helpful for me personally ,and when i heard and saw they were on strike ,I felt so bad ,then was offered 25 raise seriously ,that's disgusting, pay them what they want ,they deserve that ,I pray you are all back to work soon ?I miss going there .I'm really sorry this is happening. Stay strong ? ?

Saddened that this has become the legacy of Pete Luckett: underpaying and basically insulting their employees after working in bad faith to prevent the legal formation of an employee union. I stand with the employees 100%.

It’s a real emporium with everything well laid out in enticing displays and looking very tempting. Very busy, we didn’t eat here, just bought the best croissants of our trip. So good, they were almost French …

Pete's fine food hot table and general review!This grocery store/market is simply beautiful, clean and fun. I've always been treated with kindness and really enjoy browsing every nook in this place.Hot table 101! (Heating of items done on the spot)Chicken pot pie $5.99 is delicious! The pastry is flaky and filling has a lovely herb, light oregano flavour, nice pieces of chicken, Potatoe, celery can be seen.Ginger beef-small box approximately $10 (slightly pricey for a quick lunch and could be served with plain rice)Very good, saucy and tender!Mexican rice-small container $4-5I was pleasantly surprised with the delicious tomato, pepper and onion flavours.
