I’m genuinely disappointed to be writing this review, especially because my first experience with them — a mango cake I ordered about a year ago — was absolutely wonderful. It was fresh, flavourful, and filled with plenty of mango chunks, and that really set my expectations.
However, when I ordered the same cake again six months later, it didn’t have nearly as many chunks. I mentioned it to them after the event, and they assured me they would add more the next time. Based on that promise, I ordered the same cake again recently and politely reminded them — only to be told that they “always add the same amount,” which felt dismissive and quite rude.
Another concern is the design process. They expect customers to draw out detailed sketches for their cakes, and despite the price being on the higher side, all they provide is a simple paper design. I’m not an artist, and it feels unreasonable to expect customers to create professional drawings just to communicate what they want.
Overall, the service has become increasingly frustrating, and I no longer feel confident placing future orders here. I truly hope they take this as constructive feedback, because they used to offer great quality and a much better experience.

Stopped by Rabbit Hole Cafe and got an iced Americano, and it was perfect. Super smooth, strong, and really refreshing. The whole vibe of the place is cozy and chill, definitely somewhere I’d come back to just to hang out with a good coffee.

I have been coming to this place over and over again during my 7 years in Halifax, and honestly, it never disappoints. I first fell in love with Rabbit Hole because of their strawberry cake 🍰- it is simply perfect. This cafe is very cute, and every single worker here is always so pleasant, kind, and attentive.
The coffee is consistently good, and the strawberry cake… absolutely amazing. I have tried a few other things, but I usually come here just for that cake. Today I tried the pistachio roll, and it was incredible: the cream was so light, not too sugary, just perfect.
If you are looking for a beautiful, delicious cake in Halifax, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!
