Nice place! Very popular and crowded! Food was good. I was very surprised when the waiter handed me the payment machine and the first tip option started at 22%... It somewhat spoiled my experience.

Outstanding restaurant right on the best stretch of the Halifax waterfront! Pizza is excellent, best that I've had in Canada! The wine selection is very good, loved the Italian wines. Amazing service, the best in the city, the servers are really well trained and truly engaged with customers. Highly recommend Amano, try eating at the bar if you're dining alone.

We've been @ A MANO a couple of times already, enough to call it our favorite Italian restaurant in Halifax. Always busy, this restaurant works like a well oiled machine. Consistent quality & decent prices, overall a great value for your money. We'll be back no doubts about it. Reservations are very much recommended.

We ate at this gem of a restaurant two evenings in a row. The food is beyond spectacular. We had the Tortellini, ravioli, Lamb shank pasta. Our Server, Calise is probably the best server I’ve ever had. So intelligent, knowledgeable and attentive. She did not forget a thing we asked for. Both evenings were truly divine. We sat outside under their heaters and blankets and were cozy, warm and protected. I urge everyone to give this beautiful restaurant a try. You will not regret it.

The worst service i have ever witnessed, first of all food took ages to be served , slamming the plates at the table rather than putting it in a mannerable way , the food took long time and yet the pizza wasn’t served hot ,

Extremely crowded with tables squeezed too close. We booked in advance and paid a high price, yet we didn’t receive our seat on time. After finally sitting down, they cleared our table after just one hour as if they wanted us to leave. Very disappointing.

Fantastic restaurant with lively atmosphere and delicious Italian dishes. Vegetarian options like the eggplant parmesan are exceptional. Service was amazing!!!! Will return often 😀

I have mixed opinions about my recent visit here. Some really positive things, and some really negative things.

The good:
- The food is incredible. If this rating was strictly to do with food, there is no question it would be 5/5 stars. Everything was absolutely perfect and delicious.
- The service was amazing. The server was one of the best I've ever had. Attentive, but not hovering too much, remembered drink refills, etc. Absolutely perfect service.

The bad:
- The atmosphere. The tables are so close to one another in most of this place that you can barely have a conversation with the person you are with because all you hear is the table next to you because they are so close. It was so bad, this is the primary reason the rating is 3/5 stars, and it's the primary reason I wouldn't return. I understand wanting to pack as many people into the place as possible to make the most $, but for me that isn't an enjoyable experience at all. It's one of the loudest and most cramped places I've ever eaten. There are some sections where the tables are so close to one another that you have to turn sideways and shuffle through. I'd prefer if management prioritize a more enjoyable atmosphere than to squeeze as much $ by cramming in as many tables as possible.
- The smell of fish. The menu seems to lean quite heavily in seafood, which is fine, but at certain points when dishes come out the smell of fish is overwhelming. If you have any kind of aversion to fish... I would highly recommend not dining here.

It's really a shame about the atmosphere, because the food and service are so perfect.

We had an absolutely lovely time! Server was on point. Not overbearing, knowledgeable and positive. Made for a lovely evening. Always a fan of your restaurant for the past several years. We were talking about how consistent everything has been for years this evening. It is definitely my favorite place to eat in Halifax! Thanks so much!

Overall a good restaurant, and one of my wife’s favourites. However, I will never order takeout from here again. Waiting 48 minutes, when I was told it would take 30 minutes is fine, it happens. But, dealing with a disrespectful, unprofessional, and unwelcoming host ruins the experience. He couldn’t have been worse if he tried. The lady at the front was kind and helpful, but the gentlemen ruined the experience and dinner. Thanks.
