Rum cake had no rum flavour. Scent was barely there. Mom was disappointed.

Made a special trip down to their store to get a chocolate rum cake. Was a bit surprised they put my cake in a used box but oh well. Didn't try the cake until I got home a few days later (on a cruise)- the clerk said it was fresh baked and they sealed it in a plastic bag. - . Has good rum flavor but the cake itself was extremely dry. Had to cover it in whipped cream to eat it. Rather pricey, little one cost me 12.95 US dollars and as said, very dry. I will not buy one there again. No comparison to the famous Tortuga cakes which are much more flavorful and moist.

First of all, the Maple Rooibos Tea is amazing!
I had some tea and rum cake. The cake was OK, I did not like it too much but I still ate it. What I did not like is that everything comes in single use plates and cutlery, even though I sat down to have a tea. It would be nice to have a proper plate and fork, it is very wasteful and does not taste as good from a wooden spoon and plastic/cardbord plate. The seating is OK, since the tables are barrels, you have to sit angled or futher away from your cake. It looks cool however. The servce took very long, self derving, too.
The store itself is cute.

We really enjoyed this cake though it was my first time trying. We enjoyed with hot tea. This cake is must try. I will buy again when I visit Nova Scotia again. Best thing it stays fresh and moist for around four weeks.

We bought a cupcake sized rum cake for way too much money. Brought it home to eat and it's so plain and flavorless. Don't understand why anyone would pay this much for such a small basic boring cake. Nothing like the rum cake we've had down south.

Love the Rum Cake! Amazing service by Vaibhavi, super friendly and loved the cake!!
Nice little shop with fun souvenirs to buy.
Got a piece of rum cake to share with the kids. They put some cinnamon sauce in the bottom, heated up the cake a bit, and put whipped cream on top.
It all tasted delicious

It is a must go place in Halifax. I highly recommend for everyone to have a coffee and a piece of cake there.
Super friendly staff and nice setting of the place with a great view. Cake was delicious and very soft. Coffee was surprisingly decent and out of my expectation.

So nice place for coffee. With rum cake is also nice. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Next door to Sugah, famous icecream shop at waterfront. Please eat rum cake with caramel sauce, it goes well.

The cake has no taste of Rum whatsoever. It's the blandest, soggiest cake I have ever had. And it's overpriced! Save your money and get a donut at Tim's.. it will be a better experience overall.

The cake was delicious. We ate in and the ladies that helped us were wonderful. We shared a piece. They warmed the cake up a touch, covered it in whip cream and a drizzle. It was great. One of us had never had it before and he loved it. Ate most of it lol. It was very light and moist. He was surprised as he had thought it would be heavier, more dense. So he was very pleasantly surprised. Definitely reccomend. Grab a slice and watch the world go by then grab one to take home.
