I've been here a few times. Normally satisfied but today a little disappointed.
Today we went for brunch. I ordered the mushroom Benny. Their hollandaise is awesome so I really wish they offered a standard eggs benny because all their Benny options featured very strong and overpowering ingredients, masking the sauce. I found the truffle cream cheese to be overpowering in the mushroom Benny masking all other flavours. Other reviews say the same thing about other Benny dishes.
As other reviews warned, the poached eggs came out hard and dry despite being ordered as soft poached. I chose not to say anything.
No espresso based coffees which would be a nice addition to what is otherwise an upscale brunch menu.
Tater tots are awesome. Service is great. Vibes are nice. Prices are reasonable considering the location.
While I wouldn't recommend any of their eggs benny dishes due to the overpowering ingredients (shame to hide their incredible hollandaise) I will be back again.
I had an excellent experience here a couple weeks ago with a friend while in Halifax for training! The restaurant was full and we ate at the bar but it was still fabulous. The dinner was incredible! My only reason for giving the atmosphere a 3 is due to it having been soooo busy that it was very loud and I had a hard time hearing my friend. Staff were very friendly and ready to serve us. The food was very well priced and tasted phenomenal. I will be back hopefully sooner than later, but would certainly book a reservation!
Great food, price, view and service.
Loved it.
I'll be back next trip.
Had a very bad experience here yesterday. Although the food was amazing, our server was very grumpy.
I was still eating when he started retiring my plate (with half my food in it) he also took my drink when I wasn't even finished.
We thought yeah, maybe he's having a bad day or something.
But he keep being super rude.
We were seated in front of him, I tried for 40 minutes to order another drink from him(after he took my drink without me finishing it), but he never even look at me, even when he was right in front of me.
I keep trying to call him, but to no avail.
He didn't had any trouble speaking with 2 guys besides me, but for some reason he decided to ignore me.
When I finally was able to order something (when he check on us), he took my drink order and then he just? Went away?
I'm not against him taking his break, but maybe do the order first?
The whole time he made us feel like we were a bother.
Maybe he wanted us to just leave, so he could get more tips and serve more drinks, but the thing is, we would have ordered more drinks is he would have let us!
And I would have left a big tip if he would have been at least decent.
I work in the serving industry, and how this guy behaved yesterday was a big red flag for a worker.
You don't let your personal life interfere with how you treat customers.
The guy was an asian guy with light hair.
Very bad service, I have been told that food will not been served until half an hour because the place is crowded and I accepted that, after I had been seated I got informed by the waitress that we are sorry we cannot serve u food unless 1 hour and I had to leave my table, very bad experience, not recommend.
1st time here and great experience. Wee took the fish and chips and the maple and whisky chicken sausage: the meals are very tasty and flavoured. (Especially for the chicken sausage, the mash was very sweet and the peppers cake excellent). The portions are a little bit small. Special mention for espresso cheesecake: awesome! The waiter was lovely. We just waited a little bit long but it happens with this kind of place. For a special date, the place could be too noisy.
Based on our experience tonight I would strongly recommend staying way from this restaurant . We took our son and his family to what was expected to be an enjoyable evening . It was anything but . The service was excruciatingly slow . When the food finally arrived it was not close what one would expect from a restaurant charging these prices . We order the sea food boil a dish priced at $85. We were told it would comfortably serve three . The menu described it as containing , mussels, cod , scallops and shrimp as well as potatoes and corn . What arrived was a dish barely sufficient to feed one person . There were no shrimps and no scallops , and a half dozen mushy mussels and small pieces of cod with lots of potatoes and corn.My son’s burger was like a piece of charcoal . To add insult to injury they charged us for the two pieces of extra bread we asked for . When we complained about the gap between the menu description and what we received our waiter basically abandoned us . The manager only intervened when my wife went and found her . My advice stay away.
This was my partner and I's first meal on the East coast and it was delicious! I ordered the cajun shrimp appetizer and my partner ordered fish and chips. He says this was the best fish and chips he had on our trip! We enjoyed the atmosphere and views of the harbour.
Busy place, but was able to walk-in and sit at the bar. Bartender was friendly and quick. Atmosphere was tasteful and warm. Lots of surfboards once you look around.
Food was incredible and after 3 drinks, 2 apps and 1 main...$88. Holy F. So cheap! Obiv if you get mains and cocktails it will be more, but I was so happy and full when I left.
I've already recommended them to friends visiting.

Server was lovely, friendly and attentive, and didn’t bat an eye when I had to send something back because I wasn’t aware of an ingredient in the dish that wasn’t listed on the menu. They were super accommodating and we were appreciative - we all enjoyed our smoked meat skillets!

Didn't answer phone all Thursday afternoon.
Didn't answer messages on social for 24 hours.
Showed up at 4:50pm and was told by the host no seats all night.
Not worth my time to chase down a place to give money to.

They don't clean the table unless you ask. You can pay $65 for seafood boil and there are 2 pices bread 6 pices shrimp 2 cod fillets 15-20 mussels and some corn and small potatoes. You can't eat more worse for $65 in Halifax. The steak is cold and hard like stone. If you want to eat something, don't come here trust me!!!
