Took my bestie here for happy hour and lunch on Valentine's Day ~2:30pm. The restaurant was not busy. Our server was nice, but largely MIA. Had to flag them down for another drink after our glasses were empty ~15 mins. Again, it wasn't busy. We tried to order a final drink 15 mins before happy hour ended and were told no, because they had more reservations arriving. I'm sure that was true, but we were surrounded by empty tables, and there was time for another drink. I thought the idea behind happy hour was to serve people lots of drinks? Haha. Nice food, nice happy hour menu, but really lackluster service.

The food was very good but the menu is too limited. Very few options. Ambiance very nice but not enough light. Felt like we were eating in the dark.

A lovely spot with great food and service. The quantities are generous and pizzas are just delicious. Would have loved to see more dessert options, but the overall experience was awesome!

Food is always great, one of my favorite spots in the city :) Server had to be flagged down a few times for basic things like ordering, but it was busy bingo night anyways! Cozy and night but bright for brunch. Love it!!!

I'd recommend going purely based on the ambiance, it is phenomenal! There aren't a ton of vegetarian options, but I enjoyed the Margherita pizza. My boyfriend enjoyed the shrimp sandwich as well. Highly recommend :)

Both me and my girlfriend enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever had here. The burger was outstanding and well worth the price. The jerk cod and clams was incredible and I have never experienced something like it. 10/10 My only complaint could be that it was noisy but I definitely understand why the restaurant was full!

We had a wonderful meal at Salt & Ash! It was recommended to us by our hotel (Moxy) at check-in, and I was able to get a reservation for the evening. It was really busy, for a Wednesday! My husband had the fish taco app and I had the tuna crudo, I was warned it would be spicy by our server, I like spice, so that was fine, but if ya don't, you may not have enjoyed it. Our mains took awhile to come, so they gave us a round of drinks-- not necessary because we really didn't feel like it was taking a long time, but you can't say no to a free drink! We devoured our mains, everything was so flavourful and tasty! Great spot and we will be back!!

Wonderful food. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. We liked it enough to eat there three times during our recent trip to Halifax. Great brunch and dinner.

So great, food was amazing, plentiful and a great value. Atmosphere was out of this world, booked a double date to catch up with old friends and it didn't disappoint.

The service and the food was very good, however it was very disturbing to see the number of mice around the tables. We mentioned it to the waiter and he apologized but says it happens quite often. I was entertaining business clients and they were not impressed.

This is a beautiful restaurant with a great vibe. This is the second time I have visited this cool restaurant-bar, with its stunning views, great patio and fantastic pizzas and cocktails. I'll be back again in April! Thank you !

The food was good, especially the pork belly appetizer. The dessert selection didn't appeal to us and I was hoping for something unique. It would be great to have some Nova Scotia desserts on the menu... blueberry grunt or their take on butter tarts, nanaimo squares... something that was a little different than the coconut pie and ice cream they had on the menu. We also would love to have an espresso at the end of our meal but the only coffee they served was drip coffee. Overall, the food was good, the server was friendly and efficient, and the views of the harbour were excellent.

The food we ordered was good - however few menu options which are still quite pricey. The place is beautiful, yet incredibly noisy, which is difficult for a group conversation. Outstanding service.

Found this place on the waterfront in Halifax on 2nd of Jan 2026, and decided to try the culinary foods presented to us at this restaurant. We didn’t make a reservation, however they accommodated us and sat us by the bar due to all tables being reserved ahead of us. We had hesitations about our choice at first because we thought the seating at the bar/working counter was going to be uncomfortable but we were fortunately wrong. Nice chairs and cozy spot. Our waiter “Dan” greeted us and made us feel even more relaxed after walking us thru various food items from the menu and we decided to go for the S+A BBQ platter. It was a mix of different salads and meat choices that we had not had before. The meal was absolutely excellent! We also had white wine and blond ales during our meal and were totally impressed with the great quality of not only the food, but of the service given to us by Dan. A Pleasurable and polite guy to talk to and sharp as a tack when we queried his knowledge about the restaurant and our food choices. He made us feel comfortable and appreciated which is a rare trait lately within the food industry. (based on our experiences). Great time there and look forward to returning again in the future.
