Sea Smoke Restaurant & Bar

Food was excellent, setting was beautiful, I just wish we had a different server. Ours was very distracted and needed to be flagged down many times, the last time we just wanted to pay :(

Sea Smoke is our top 3 in Halifax! Always great sushi and fabulous service ! Unbeatable views and the cocktails are delicious 10/10!

Food was prefect, was first seated inside but it was a bit loud with a large party, move to an outdoor seat and it was prefect!

This place is relying on its' good looks and prime location. Filled with tourist as I can't imagine locals would go ther more than once. I am from the West Coast and eat at many fine Sushi/ seafood inspired restaurants. Sea Smoke wouldn't last 8 months in Vancouver. We ordered one lobster roll, one dynamite roll and spring rolls. The spring roll was uninspired, I could not tell the difference in flavour between the dynamite and lobster roll; except that the lobster roll had pieces of lobster shell in it! Plus the sushi rice was dry, it should not be dry. Many servers were more interested in talking among them selves than looking after the patrons. As an added bonus some servers appeared to be in a tight t-shirt contest while at work.

Great food, great service, great location! Highly recommended spot for lunch on the waterfront.

Restaurant was beautiful and service was fantastic. The lobster pad Thai was dry and did not have much flavour, definitely not worth the $55

Wonderful friendly courteous service and the food was excellent. My very hard to please mother in law loved the grilled scallops! The outdoor seating has a great view of the harbor area.

They have this set up at nighttime with firetables. It's awesome. Mainly got drinks and appetizers because friend was not a fan of seafood, but will comeback to try the entrees. In terms of appetizers, edamame and calimari were great. For drinks we got the queen bee and lychee ?something. Both were delicious but I think I preferred the lychee one better

Pretty slow. We waited for a takeout box for 1 hour. At first, they brought a very large box that didn’t even fit the lid. Then we asked for a different one, and the server said they were still looking for it. After waiting another 30 minutes, we just gave up and left.

Great and friendly bar staff. Good view of the water. Patio looked really cute! Get the espresso martini with tiramisu cold foam.

Had a great time at the sea and smoke with my family, had wonderful service by Matt for the 5 of us. Was very quick and friendly with service and made the night. Had wonderful food as well, definitely a must go place if you’re visiting the Halifax water front.

What a wonderful evening with my good friend from Greece! Enjoyed the sushi was so tasty and the service was excellent with a perfect view of the blue nose ship and harbour ! Wish the fire thing of our worked but was ok .

Our second visit to Sea Smoke was disappointing. We had a great first experience & were looking forward to returning. Despite having a reservation, we were seated in a high traffic, noisy table when there were others that remained empty in nicer, quieter areas all around us. We were not even given the option of eating outdoors on a beautiful, sunny afternoon. Though our server was pleasant, it took a really long time to get our food. The vegan Yazai maki roll was very unremarkable; not worth it at all. All in all, will not be rushing back & hesitant to recommend.

Nice seating out on patio with fire going, never felt cold. Staff is friendly and sushi was great 👌
