Sea Smoke Restaurant & Bar

We enjoyed our dinner at Sea Smoke. The coctails were well-made and tasty, the sashimi was very fresh and delicious, tenderloin and lobster tail perfectly cooked. The salmon mouse cigar appetizer was a bit weird with the chocolate shell and we felt it would perhaps go better as a dessert element perhaps with a cheese board? The crispy duck for the bao bun appetizer was a bit overcooked and so crispy that the duck flavour was a bit lost. The service was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed out evening and would go back.

Just visited Sea Smoke with friends and absolutely loved the environment and food !! Our server was also super patient and recommended wonderful food. Beautiful property right by the water with outdoor fire tables.

One of our favorites for food and ambiance. The only restaurant with individual fire tables , which is great for ambulance and warmth as the evening gets later.

Generally slow service with certain items being missed. Patio is very cramped. Inconsistent quality across the menu - some very good and other items just okay. Probably a great spot for tourists, though.

This was a celebratory meal for my business associate and I who had just finished a long project. We both had not been to Sea Smoke before to enjoy the patio. While it was a clear day, it was a bit chilly on the Halifax Waterfront. But the server was nice enough to light the pit fire for us. After that, it was off to the races with excellent service and the best sushi and appys. Loved this place.

Excellent service staff, great atmosphere and very good food

Possibly the worst service I've ever experienced. Ate on the patio and it took 30 minutes to even get a server and another 30 to get a drink. We picked this restaurant because it was right on the ocean and had fire tables to eat by to keep warm. We'll it took two servers and a hostess to get the thing started after about an hour of waiting and then it still wouldn't stay on. They didn't have a table inside so we went and got jackets from the hotel which was fine because they still hadn't taken our food order. We finally got our food after waiting for about an hour and a half after sitting down. The people that were in line right behind us were still just getting their drinks at the same time. I have to say the food wasn't terrible. I ordered the seafood skillet which was good but was a very small portion for the price. As we were leaving the same people that came in behind us were just sending back a steak that they said was barely blue rare. Terrible experience.

I can sum up this review with 1 sentence “Having Seasmoke as an option for a restaurant, Why bother going Anywhere else?!!!” Amazing food with amazing food presentations! Can't wait to come back! Amazing!

Amazing flavours! Scallops & Tataki beef melt in your mouth. Black mamba roll exquisite. Will definitely return for dinner!

Poor service. Waited a ridiculously long time to even get into the restaurant with a vanishing hostess. Then we waited 35 minutes just to get our drink order, and only then after flagging down a different server, in a less than full restaurant. Food was good but the whole situation was very off-putting. I won't go back to Sea Smoke on future trips to Halifax!

The food was delicious and our server was personable and knowledgeable. Great experience! Will be back!
