Book a table by the window for an ocean view or eat outside around a fireside table! The setting and atmosphere is fabulous!
The grilled scallops under “add ons” are outstanding! Lightly grilled, tender and tasty.
The Sea Smoke, Chef’s Spicy Tuna and St. George Rolls were very fresh and excellent sharing plates.
Restaurant is very clean, fish if fresh and the staff are eager to make everyone happy!

The smoked salmon dish was not worth at all we paid for. The calamari was boring and the service was horrible. It took us over 20 minutes just to get someone to come out to take our order and our food came out before our drinks.

The salmon with pickled vegetables was okay, but definitely small. Not very flavorful. Very good presentation. A bit overpriced for what I got.

I've dined here many times; but I felt this past visit last night was not up to the usual high standard. I hesitated to write this review, as I am a fan of this spot. I will say that I did love my Ocean sushi and oysters (and two of my four guests loved their sushi as well). However, two of my guests ordered the Lobster Pad Thai—the lobster tails were overcooked and the meat was very hard to pry off the shell (resulting in a lot of the meat remaining on the shell). A bit disappointing for a $55 dish. One of the guests had ordered that meal before and the lobster meat was beautifully cooked in that instance, and so that's why he recommended it to the other guest who had traveled here from a great distance. The cocktails we had were quite good according to my guests, as always; however, mine (a gin-based one called Super Nova which I'd had in the past) tasted very weak and seemed like a key ingredient was missing or was not of sufficient measure). I did mention it to the server, whose first response communicated to me that I was somehow wrong. Eventually, she removed the beverage and I ordered a glass of Prosecco (which arrived fairly flat, unfortunately). These were fairly small inconveniences in the grand scheme and I haven't had any issues in the past at this restaurant that I can recall. So my tip was still very good, as I know any restaurant can have an off-day. But this time was probably the most expensive and least satisfying experience I've had at a restaurant in some time. All this said, I will certainly give Sea Smoke my business again, as I do love the vibe and ambience, along with the sushi and oysters. And I usually do like the cocktails/mocktails I've tried.
Food portions super small, we had to go eat at another restaurant after we can here.

Server was incredible, food was amazing. I got the tomahawk steak, my partner got the volcano sushi roll. Absolutely delicious, first time there and we will definitely be back

We splurged on dinner here since it was our last night in Calgary. Decent and part of the allure was the fire pit to be honest. Their gochujang chicken was dry and sad. A good spot regardless but Asians would be quite disappointed at the quality of its “Asian” food.
Incredible Sashimi and the Oyster Scallops are so good! I really enjoyed having fresh wasabi and delicious complex cocktails.

The food here is always amazing, but when I came in this evening our server never came to our table. We were sat by the host and given water, and waited 30 minutes for a server to come by. Nobody did. So we left. Super super disappointed, this is not like u guys at sea smoke to goof so badly
Incredibly mid. Kind of overpriced but that should be expected based on the location. Gets the job done I guess but there are definitely better options out there.

I'll be honest: I originally came to Sea Smoke to borrow their wi-fi. But also because everyone sitting outside at those fire-tables looks like they're living their best life. Once we were seated (and then reseated after discovering our first table's propane had given up), it became clear why: the sweeping ocean views, the prime people-watching real estate, and yes, an actual fire pit built into your table (which has clearly claimed a few menus as casualties).
The food was solid. The sushi rolls featured high-quality scallops, and mercifully, they don't pad everything with an aggressive amount of rice like some places do when they're hoping carbs will do the heavy lifting. The happy hour oysters were fresh, local, and hit the right notes with a glass of Tidal Bay. Nothing was revelatory—honestly, I've already forgotten what else we ordered—but that's not really the point here.
You're paying for the view and the vibe, and on that front, Sea Smoke absolutely delivers. Sometimes that's enough.
