Finally got to try here for breakfast on a sunny Sunday morning in November. The recent construction on Gottigen has made parking more of a challenge than usual, but today I found a spot on a closeby side street. I was the first customer of the morning and it was so peaceful to grab a table toward the rear. I think I counted seating for 16 at regular tables, plus a few at the window. Very cute, casual, fresh feel to the place with plants, natural lighting, random decor, but simple. Very friendly staff. I tried the Big Brunch, asking how big it actually is. I was warned, and it was big, but not too much, so was able to finish it. Baked beans, deliciously seasoned home fries, tofu scramble, grilled tomato, toast, mini salad for I believe $24 was so good. I plan to come back here and basically try everything else on the menu in time. Makes me wish it was closer to me in Dartmouth.

Wonderful food and great service! Smal freezer for take home meals and a few fresh grocery items as well. They have a full catering menu as well which is awesome! Two large accessible bathrooms. Updated from previous review on 2025-11-06

This was our first time visiting Springhouse and enjoyed our experience.

I ordered the burrito with a side of cornbread - which was the star of the show in my eyes. My boyfriend got the bbq chicken plate which he enjoyed. The only thing I’d note is that my burrito had too much rice in it, which made it feel more bland.

Overall, it was still a good meal and a spot we’d visit again.

Through the app and a personal recommendation, we ended up eating lunch here. The taste was fantastic, portions large. We had the brunch and the day's special (spaghetti alfredo). Would come back and recommend further!

I got a starter and a main as I saw they had hummous with za’tar, which is my favourite thing ever 🥹 I had the chicken handheld (can’t remember exactly what it was called) and it was so good. Really big portions, I’ve got leftovers for tomorrow which is always a plus😄

While visiting Halifax recently, my friends and I were looking for some good vegan restaurants to try out and came across Springhouse in our searches.

We ended up going for dinner and all love everything that we got. Everyone enjoyed their food so much that we went back the following day for dinner again, despite there being a lot of great vegan restaurants in Halifax that we also were trying out for breakfast and lunch, we all wanted to order what each other got the previous night.

The food was reasonably priced, the server was incredibly sweet and everything was delicious.

Had to check this place out and ended up there for Sunday brunch, 11-2 on Sundays. They have a few brunch specific items, including eggs florentine and waffles you can pick the toppings for. The rest of the menu is a limited list of their regular menu. I had the eggs Florentine, made with tofu egg and a pretty good hollandaise. I would probably try something else if I went back again but sometimes the promise of a classic breakfast just hits. The restaurant is very cute with 6 tables and a small bar seating. I was the only dine in customer for my whole meal so the space is definitely enough. There is also a market with meals to go and some vegan specialty items.

I shopped at Springhouse while they were a grocery store with some takeout options, and when they converted back to a restaurant, I kept meaning to go but never seemed to get there. Well, today was the day! I ordered the BBQ bowl and my husband got the breakfast plate, and we both got cheesecake. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly, space was comfortable for a hot July day. Also they do have quite a few gluten-free options for those of you like myself who need that.

Small restaurant with a good variety of options. I had the veg and tofu dumplings - which were delicious, maybe the best dumplings I’ve had. Also had the ramen which was not a regular menu item - it was mediocre and I wouldn’t get it again. I’d love to return next time I’m in Halifax and try something else. Service was slow even though me and my friend were the only diners in the restaurant.
