I have been going to Stillwell beer garden since its launch at this location off spring garden. I am a huge fan, and frequent on a biweekly basis. Service and atmosphere is great as always this year, however not the same can be said about the new food menu. While the food is actually good, I feel as though there are some key flaws in the new menu. While the dip that comes with the chips was a needed change, reducing the portion size to about 1/4th the size was unnecessary. I would much rather pay an extra dollar than the portions be drastically downsized. We all know a potato is not that expensive. Secondly, this place was known for its pickles , so when you put a menu item as “house pickles” nobody would expect an assortment of beets, onions, and carrots (everything but an actual pickle). This is not a fine dining establishment. While I applaud some of the changes, don’t forget to keep the basics in tact.

Does this place ever open?It was closed when I last visited Halifax on 31 October, and again yesterday.Thanks for your quick response - fully understand your situation.I’m now in the other Stillwell which, as ever, is excellent! (Only downside is the lack of cask beer on this visit).
