Restaurant is closed until December. We wandered around the outside checking all the doors. All locked up. A nearby place told us they were closed and might open in December for a bit. No idea if this is normal for them. We fortunately found a place to eat nearby.

Positive excellent location and atmosphere. Over looking the harbour can't be beat. Drinks were a good price $6 for a beer or whiskey and ginger!!! They had a great band playing the East Enders can't be beat!!!!
Food was expensive and not the greatest. We had club with salad. Sandwich was good however the salad was a small bowl of lettuce. Left a lot to be desired.
That being said I would definitely go back just for a drink and see the band again!!!!

Would have loved to have given a 5 star review as the good was absolutely amazing (best fish and chips I've ever had!) and loved the atmosphere but unfortunately the service was sub par. Over 30 minutes just to place the order and that was because we finally flagged down the waiter who told us he'd be"right with us" when we'd arrived.

First, loved the atmosphere and overall was nicely setup outside. The music lived things up and good feel. However, it took over 1 hour before the waiter came back to tell us the dish had an ingredient that my wife was alergic to and would need to re-order. That should have been checked with the kitchen right away to reduce wait time. Even that long a wait would have gotten many people to leave. Took about 1 hour 30 minutes to get our food, which is crazy. Fish and chips and soup of the day were amazing, however, my wife's sandwich had extremely burnt chicken and excessive i think in most peoples book. Would love to come back, but the service was about the worst we ever experienced and we aren't that picky, but think the management should know, so that this can be improved.

My partner and I visit the waterfront on a very regular basis, we celebrated my partners birthday last year and it was great. Fast forward to Saturday May 25, my partner and I were enjoying the waterfront it was a gorgeously warm summer day. We decided to drop into Stones Throw for a drink and maybe some food. We asked for a seat facing the harbour, our 2 hostesses, why 2 not sure because one never said anything, they had to check. In a few moments they returned advising that we could. Both started to escort us to our table when halfway there one of the hostesses stopped to have a conversation with a server on the lower level, after a few moments they then resumed escorting us to our seats. We took our seats and reviewed the menu. Now it wasn’t extremely busy, and the servers were serving other guests seated right beside us. And after more than 15 minutes no one came over or even acknowledged us. We become frustrated when we even tried to actively get a servers attention, we decided that we would leave since we weren’t acknowledged. So we got up and proceeded to leave, and same hostesses that had escorted us did good bye not realizing that we were not served or that we were happy. We then went to another establishment.
We will not be back and certainly would not recommend!! Shame on you Stones Throw, so disappointing!

Great atmosphere, great food. Can't understand some of the bad reviews for the waiting staff, which in my case has been great.
Hannah did everything to make me feel welcome, offered me great recommendations in terms of food and drinks and was a great person to have a chat with.
Once i'm back in Halifax, i'll definitely will visit this place again!
