We had an awesome birthday dinner for my boyfriend last weekend; the dumplings and the crème brûlée are on a whole nutha level! Service was amazing, atmosphere was perfect, this will be a go-to whenever we visit.

My friends and I had a fantastic experience. We took a chance and walked over, not expecting to get a table, so we were thrilled when we found one open. The food and drinks were all amazing—everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices. Despite being busy, the atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant does an excellent job of showcasing the flavors of Asia. We'll definitely be returning soon to explore more of the menu.

To preface, a number of attempts were made to speak to the restaurant before this review - in person and via email.

We’re on vacation in the Halifax area and looking to check out the top local eateries, Studio East being one. We visited on Tuesday July 22nd at around 5:00. I want to be clear, I am not looking to get anyone in trouble, but what we experienced I feel needs immediate attention.

We were hosted and served by a brunette woman in a pony tail with glasses. To begin, we noticed something that was “off” about her demeanor. She was slurring her words, and upon bringing us our drinks she dropped a bottle of sparkling water on the ground and the glass smashed everywhere.

As she was cleaning she was scraping up the glass with her bare fingers and seemed to have cut herself. After we moved tables and order our appetizers, she proceeded to bring over plates and napkins. Unfortunately, there were droplets on the napkins and the plates. This brought out experience from odd and uncomfortable to being a health hazard.

We proceeded to notify the other staff at the bar that we were leaving due to a serious of interactions that were increasingly concerning.

We were really looking forward to trying the food as we have heard incredible reviews, and it’s unfortunate that this is our first and only impression.

The vegetarian options were incredible and possibly some of the best I’ve tried in Halifax at a non-dedicated spot. The food and drinks were very fresh, flavourful, and prepared with intention/care. The serving staff were very kind, knowledgable, and gave off a great energy. Overall such a positive experience and a great spot to eat with a group that enjoys meat and also has vegetarians.

We walked in last night and saw seating available. Waited to be seated and after having multiple staff completely ignore us (2 feet away, made eye contact and moved on), we went elsewhere . I understand being busy but a simple greeting and “be right with you “ isn’t difficult. We dine out at good restaurants often and have never experienced this.

Poor customer service. They don't care about delivery drivers. Not the first time this happened at this restaurant.

I came to pick up an order and was told it would be ready in a few minutes we are finishing it up. I waited over 10 minutes, but no one gave any updates. As a delivery driver, time is important. If we cancel the pickup, another driver can easily take over, so there's really no point in waiting around with no communication. Please try to give the right information.
