Pork taco was only mildly spicy. Fish taco was good. Fried chicken taco tasted like a big mac. Depressing bar atmosphere. Dirty bathroom.

Deliciously fresh and very filling. The service itself was fast and friendly. Highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit

The fried chicken taco is A+. So glad Halifax has good tacos now! We moved away to California so every time we come home, this is where we'll stop for our taco fix. Warning: their spicy options are SPICY. As it should be.

I really, really want this place to succeed. There were some hits and some misses. Hits - their chips are made in house and are delicious. Also most of their salsas are house made and are very good. The staff the day I was there were friendly and helpful. My son had the fried chicken taco with pimento cheese and he said it was very good and he would get it again. I had the carne asada, the carnita and al pastor tacos. My son had the previously mentioned fried chicken, barbecoa and a third that I don't recall. Three tacos for $12 is a very good price. Misses - I've cooked and eaten a lot of Mexican food both in Mexico and the US, so I know a fair bit about how things should be prepared. The carnitas were braised and shredded and while the flavour was good they should have been crisped up in their own fat. And it was swimming in juice which made the tortillas fall apart. The al pastor - flavour was pretty good, but the pineapple is supposed to be roasted/grilled along with the pork. And again, swimming in liquid causing the tortillas to fall apart. Sigh. Truly I want them to be successful because they have the potential, they just need to work on fine tuning their product.

I finally got a chance to check out this place - 3 tacos for 12$ is a pretty good lunch special and I'm definitely full I had the carne asada, beef cheek, and al pastor. The beef check was really tasty, but the other two were a bit of a miss. Way too much liquid in general, the tacos were all soaked and falling apart when you'd pick them up...Carne asada was definitely not grilled or seared. The al pastor was also good just the flavours weren't balanced. My biggest issue is that they don't make their corn tortillas - Thats the bread and butter of a taqueria. It would bring the food from ok to something that doesn't exist in Halifax. It doesn't seem like anything was cooked on the flat top.... that being said, it tasted good and was fresh.

We each had two tacos, shared the loaded nachos and had drinks all in for under $50. The food was fresh and really tasty. We will be back!

Amazing tacos - bright, fresh flavours. Plenty of classic Tacos like the beef cheek or beef tongue with more modern options like friend chicken, jack fruit or friend fish. Hje flour tortillas are made fresh in house daily and they have corn tortillas as well. The Carne Asada fries (Steak tacis meats poutine) are insanely good and huge portions. I can only hope they keep the Koji rubbed Beef short rib tacos and bring back the hard shell.optikm for the Mitla steak tacos.

Waited awhile for this place to open up and got to try it for lunch on an overcast Tuesday, their first week open. I'd been a weekly regular at the former Vandal Doughnuts spot inside Gus' Pub, where this place has taken over, so I had a rough idea what to expect. You walk in the door and it's a small take-out counter, but people are able to use the tables in the pub. Business inside another business. Locals know this place is considered a rusty dive bar, but whatever, it's the food that matters. The tacos were as delicious as I expected. I tried the Baja Fish Taco for $4, the Fried Avocado Taco for $4 and Carne Asada for $5 (marinated skirt steak, salsa verde, radish, onions, cilantro, salsa roja). All pretty messy to eat, but all bursting with flavor and not sure which one was my favorite...maybe the fish, maybe the avocado. lol My friend inhaled his two Fried chicken tacos ($5) and I will have to order that one next time. The menu is small, with only eight varieties, but that's fine. Some side things you can order too, nachos, beans, fries, jalapeno poppers, chips with guac & salsa. Friendly staff. I can't wait to go back.
