Visit on Saturday December 8, 2025. Mobility impaired accessible, nearby on-street parking. Smaller, but rather comfortable / cozy dinning area quite suitable for having a good conversation. Great beverage and food menu options with about a dozen choices on draft / bottled beer and a handful of wines. Staff were exceptional and helpful in deciding upon orders. We had the beef dip and broccoli soup which were great. Prices were good.

Went hereto kill time before my birthday dinner. I’m pregnant and can’t drink, and there were no non-alcoholic options, so stuck with water (no problem, it’s a pub, what do you expect). The French onion soup had no onions and a heap of rosemary and thyme floating on the surface, which was very unpleasant to chew through. When I told the server, apologetically, he shrugged and flatly said “okay, to each their own”. Then ordered a poutine. The fries were good, but drowned in gravy and very little cheese. Like a literal bowl of packaged gravy. Nothing like any of the photos in previous reviews. I felt so sick after this poutine that I had to cancel the birthday dinner we had planned. The server/bartender treated us like a nuisance the whole time. Terrible experience.

Great food, friendly service, and fantastic atmosphere! We were in Halifax on business and a group of us randomly picked The Brown Hound. We were all very happy with the place in all aspects. Good value for money and can't beat the atmosphere.

Enjoyed a Guinness beef pie and it was delicious. There are good beers and well crafted cocktails available. The bar and dining area is surrounded by brick, stone and wooden beams and the atmosphere is cozy.

My cruise ship arrived a night earlier than planned, so I found myself looking for a drink quite late and with very little open. Thankfully, I found this place and was not disappointed! The entire staff was incredibly friendly and offered great advice, suggesting an excellent beer that I thoroughly enjoyed. While I only came for a drink, I noticed the food looked fantastic as it was being served to others. Despite the sudden influx of unexpected customers from the cruise ship, the service was fast and efficient. This spot truly saved the evening. I will absolutely make a point of visiting again if I'm ever back in town (and hopefully try the menu next time!).

Chowder came out cold! Server seemed to disappear after delivering our food so it took some time for us to send the soup back. Quaint facility.

Stopped in here for a drink and an appy before heading for supper. The place was buzzing but we still managed to get in quickly. A small, quaint pub with good energy and a lovely warm vibe.
Virgin Caesar was great. Guinness was fabulous. Ordered some wings and fries as well that hit the spot. Would recommend!

Deadly French onion soup. Good choice of draughts on tap ; especially love Keith's white...
Careful, once you've ordered food, you're sort of forgotten about afterwards for anything else. Really busy place and rather crowded...DO NOT sit at a corner bar seat! Everyone hits you on their way by without pardon or notice.
Worthwhile try, but will not return

A typical pub offering a the standard fare.
The chowder was mostly potato which was disappointing. The lobster roll was good but the fish heavily battered. Service was fast like they wanted you in & out.

Hidden gem around the high rise condos… it’s a must go!!! It’s behind Alexandre Keith’s. I’ll be going on all my future business trips!

Woooooh 1. The fish and chips was incredible. 2. The Guinness « tasted how it should ». The place is lovely, exactly what I was searching for, thanks a lot 👏

Food is mediocre at best. The room I was in was colder than a Canadian October night outside. Instead of asking us if we wanted anything else, the waiter just asked if we wanted our checks. I was going to order something more but I didn’t and just asked for my check.
P.s. the pub wasn’t full, barely 50% full.
