I am blind and travel with a guide dog and under the Blind Persons Rights Act of Nova Scotia, I have the right to enter a restaurant with my guide dog without showing any paperwork. The hostess at this establishment insisted on seeing the paperwork, luckily I had it and I only showed it because I just wanted to try one of their beers before rushing back to my cruise ship. She even asked her manager so it wasn't just her. Guess this place thinks it's okay to violate the law and turn away blind people with well behaved guide dogs because most (particularly tourists from the US) do not carry paperwork with them everywhere they go because it's not required. I will add that some Canadian provinces do allow restaurants to request documentation but Nova Scotia is not one of them. I hope with the bad publicity from this review that this restaurant will apologize to me and get their act together so no one else has to go through this.
So cozy, always great service and my fave fries in the city :)

What a beauty little spot that’s almost hidden from view. My friend and I found it through Google, and as we walked along Hollis we knew we found it when we saw this beautiful little courtyard adorned with lights.
A few steps down we found ourselves at the front door.
Right away the smells from the kitchen wafted towards us and we were hungry!
It was busy tonight, but we got a spot right away as there was only two of us. We sat at the bar , the very end of the bar in a tiny little corner for ourselves.
The service was amazing! Everyone very attentive and happy to help.
I had the chicken sandwich. Was fully expecting a friend chicken but it was grilled! I was so happy about this as I’ve had my fill of friend chicken sandwiches.
The toppings were fresh and crisp and seasoned just right. Couldn’t put it down.
The fries we need to talk about. The odd cut, and the light batter caught my attention. Then I picked one up and bit down. It was super crispy and lightly seasoned. Dipped in the aioli or even the Guinness gravy really made them come alive.
Clean plate club all the way. Will be back!

The poutine was excellent. The fish and chips is a very generous sized fish. I did think the batter needed. Ore flavor.

Cool little pub with great atmosphere. Rustic with a fireplace.
I sat at the bar and had the poutine, excellent!! Plenty of cheese curds and a nice gravy with a little kick to it. Had the lobster roll with calamari, it was good. I would try something else next time. Staff was great! I would come back.

What a delight. If you arrived by cruise, do yourself a favor, get off the pier and walk the short distance to this pub. Staff was great and the food is EXCELLENT. A tucked away gem to be sure. Every serving local brews from Alexander Keith’s just around the corner. So not miss your opportunity to enjoy this establishment.

This place is on par with most eatery pubs in Halifax, the reason I gave a one star, was the impression I was left with...upon looking at the bill. 50 cent charge for ketchup!! WHAT!!! it's not the 50cents, it's the point, charging for ketchup!!! Look at the receipt.
