Dining on a Sunday evening early December at The Wharf was a perfect way to end our stay in Halifax. Exceptional service, friendly atmosphere and great food.

Lovely atmosphere and waiter was friendly. I had the lobster roll and my friend had fish cakes. The lobster roll was mushy and had too much dill and wasn't pleasant to eat. My companions' fish cakes were very dry and overly fishy. The remainder of our party enjoyed their meal - scollops and chicken. Would not recommend the lobster roll or fish cakes to anyone.

We had a very enjoyable meal but we wouldn't choose the swordfish next time as it was tough and chewy. A few more vegetarian options would be good too.

Excellent Venue with water all round. Marvelous Seafood & Professional Wait Staff. Could not have been better.

Excellent overall restaurant on Halifax Harbour with an awesome view! The food was delicious and our server was polite and helpful. We will come back again to this gem on the Halifax Harbour!

Was good, but nothing to rave about. If you aren't a die hard seafood lover I wouldn't recommend.

Highly recommend! Large portions for a very reasonable price!

Seafood Chowder was the best I’ve ever had.

Great service, wonderful oceanside scenery. Very nicely decorated and comfortable setting. We ordered a clam chowder which was split between the two of us. We were advised one order is very big. The two halves were still sizable and rich with shrimp, salmon, haddock and potatoes. We ordered the lobster roll, which came with crispy perfect fries, and cabbage. The fries were really good. The lobster roll itself was mixed with celery and green onion. Good on its own. Definitely a place to recommend for a taste of Halifax. We hear the fish and chips are good, but they were all out when we were there.

Had a pretty good experience at The Cable Wharf in August of 2025. It was during a lunch quest to eat another lobster roll and we ended deciding on The Cable Wharf due to the great location, with a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the harbour.

As others have mentioned the atmosphere is excellent. Great views of the water and comfortably shaded.

We found it kind of comical that each time we ordered a lobster roll somewhere, the bun seemed to get smaller and smaller - culminating in the bun here, which more or less looked like one of those hotdog buns out get out of a package of eight at the grocery store. On the plus side, it made the portion of lobster look especially heaping. Fries were crispy and very delicious.

Highlight of the meal was the couple fishing on the dock while a seagull patiently sat nearby - awaiting them to catch a small fish and toss it his way.

Not my favorite lobster roll in Halifax in my opinion but there is many other options on the menu that I'm sure are great and you can't go wrong with the location.

Saw this place as I was getting ready for a boat tour. Was curious to try it out as I was craving seafood since being in Halifax!

The bread was amazing with maple butter!
The salmon was as expected, fresh - I did find a bone or two, but the jalapeno was very yummy!
Tried a lobster roll for the first time! It didn’t blow me away for $32, but the dip that came with the fries was AMAZING.
The cheesecake was my favourite thing of the entire meal, excluding the blueberry cocktail.

I would recommend this place, but I think the meals can be a little hit or miss which is slightly disappointing based on the price.
